Commercial Description:
This strong golden ale showcases a variety of the ingredients and brewing methods that help differentiate Flying Fish beers. The Grand Cru is fermented at a higher temperature than our other beers adding an undercurrent of fruitiness (although there is no fruit in the beer). Very lightly filtered, the Grand Cru exhibits complex mouthfeel, strong malt flavors, a spicy hop presence and a soothing alcohol warmth, followed by a clean, dry finish. Bottle conditioned, it is excellent with food as well as served by itself.

12 oz bottle. Pours a crystaql clear slightly thin looking golden/yellow with a large white pillowy head. Aroma is spot on with big yeast notes, white pepper and an overall spicyness. That is where the beer ends all that is good and takes a drastic turn for the worse. Mouthfeel is like flat soda and medium bodied but really needs some noticable carbonation. Flavor of citrusy lemon and bread but falls flat compared to the aroma. This beer is a real let down sort of like Jon Favreau’s Made, man was that movie horrible.

Bottle. Sweet rush of Duvelesque yeast mixed with strong candy sugar. Yellow-golden pour with strong carbonation and an aggressive, quickly diminished white head. Taste is of pale malts with a nice, hollow, inverted chalkiness and smooth yeasty component. Could be drier but not really losing points for it. Touch of citrus and bg icing. Medium-bodied and creamy, smooth and refreshing, one of the better Duvel clones I’ve had….

Bought a sixtel. After numerous tastings, this is a pleasant ale. Corriander, vanilla, pepper, slight butterscotch, long finish with slight alcohol presence. Personally I prefer IPA for sessions. This does me good for about 2-3 before wanting something else. Not bad, Flying Fish keep it going. Please make a strong Wee Heavy?

On tap at the Blue Dog in Chalfont. A deep golden pour with thin head. Aroma of fruit, spice and yeast. Flavor was sweet malts, citrus fruits, spices and a dry finish. Nothing too special here for me.

12oz bottle split with JRedmond. The aroma could of been a bit more prominate. Yet, this brew makes up for it with a unique spicey taste and a finish that stays.

12 oz bottle split with Pwn3d. Body is clear yellow. Aroma is faint spice and fruit. Taste is spice, fruit, less hops than the allagash grand cru - attributing to a longer, smoother finish. ::::: 2ND SAMPLE::::: On draft at PJs in Medford. Pours a piss clear yellow body. Aroma is really sweet sugary malt and fruit. Flavor is same but finishes with a sharp, slightly offensive taste of alcohol. -0.6

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of earth, herbs, pepper, cloves, coriander, and honey. Poured gold in color with a small white head that diminished. Clear. Sparkling. Herbal flavor. Tastes of herbs, pepper, cloves, honey, and spices. Medium body. Slightly sticky texture. Average carbonation. Clove finish is a bit sweet.
