Commercial Description:
At the request of you hopheads, we produced this I.P.A. with a deep golden color, plenty of hop bitterness balanced by malt sweetness. Because of the extensive dry hopping, there’s a floral and citrus hop finish. It’s then lightly filtered to maintain the appropriate body and flavor. The beer features a combination of American, English and German malts to balance the large amount of hops. The HopFish also uses three hop varieties at five different times and has been dry-hopped for two weeks with 22lbs of Nugget whole leaf hops.

Really good IPA from FF. It’s got a fruity finish to it and is decently bitter. All hop heads should give this one a try.

Bottle: Orange/golden pour with a very thick and fluffy off-white head. Aroma is rich of citrus amd floral hops- lots of grapefruit. Taste is sweet then sour with tons of floral and citrus hops in the tail. Clean and dry finish leaves the hops on the tip of your tongue. Very tasty. Thanks DocLock!

Bottle. Crystal clear honey color with a creamy colored head. Decent aroma with all the usual IPA components - citrus, hops, floral notes, etc. This one has an almost minty element to it, the way it tingles the inside of my nose. Nice round flavor, good bitterness, well balanced and drinkable. Not complex at all, and it misses a hint of sweetness that I like in IPAs. Nice east coast IPA.

This is basically an IPA light. Very little bittterness, and no real complexity at all. Well balanced, but it doesn’t seem that there is much to balance. Biggest redeeming quality is the big floral hop aroma. Good, just not anything special.

Orange pour with a decent sized head...does lace a little. Aroma is grassy. Piney hops throughout with just the right balance of citrus. Very good.

Pours with only an initially one-and-a-half finger thick, frothy, off white colored head despite the ample carbonation that creates a mad rush of bubbles streaming towards the surface of the beer. The beer is a brilliantly clear, amber tinged, full copper color. The aroma is, of course, hop dominated; both notes of herbaceous pine and sweet citrus are quite noticeable. The citrus notes are dominant, though the herbal character was what I noticed first. Sweet citrus notes of fresh orange zest, ruby-red grapefruit, and lychee lead the citrus charge. There is perhaps a wisp of grain / malt character here; a hint of toasted grain, and some caramelized malt sugars are all that I even get suggestions of in the aroma.

A nice solid bitterness leads up front in my first sip, and continues on through the finish. The bitterness is fairly smooth and I would not necessarily characterize it as biting. Somewhat dry, though there is a nice caramelized character here, the hops lean towards zesty citrus as opposed to the sweet, fleshy fruit notes. The finish has a malt undertone, that mixes with a menthol / pine character and adds a bit of lingering astringency. Medium full on the palate the beer is light enough to be quaffable, but has enough mouthfeel to be just a touch chewy.

This is a nice quaffable beer; it certainly strikes the balance between quaffability and hop character that should define the style. It is not one of the more aggressive versions of the style, but never fear, it is still enjoyable and hoppy enough for all but the seriously hop-deranged.

Amber color with light head. Smooth hop aroma that is hoppy appetizing, but not quite amazing. Hop taste is dominated by citrus & grassy hops, but very interesting malt characteristics provide some nice balance. There are certainly better IPAs available in the area, but I’ll gladly drink a Fish any day.

12 oz bottle from Mystery Swap (thanks DocLock!). Pours a clear amber with an average size white head. Nose is subtle and all i get are some mild floral hops and a bit malt. Taste starts with some orange and caramel, then a little pine. Thin body. Low carbonation. An average IPA.
