Commercial Description:
At the request of you hopheads, we produced this I.P.A. with a deep golden color, plenty of hop bitterness balanced by malt sweetness. Because of the extensive dry hopping, there’s a floral and citrus hop finish. It’s then lightly filtered to maintain the appropriate body and flavor. The beer features a combination of American, English and German malts to balance the large amount of hops. The HopFish also uses three hop varieties at five different times and has been dry-hopped for two weeks with 22lbs of Nugget whole leaf hops.

Small tight tan head, retention is good with a light stringy lace. Clear copper color. Nose is light fruit, malt, a bit flowery. Body is light/medium. Malts up front, lightly sweet, grainy, hops are really subdued, a touch grassy, lightly citrusy.Lightly sweet fruity finish.

Mostly lasting 1cm thick white head covers the light amber body. Citric and brightly orangey nose works well with the gently toasted malts. Slight soapiness reminisces of English takes. Almost hay-like flavour profile. Light-medium carbonation, light-medium bodied.

Sample from the bottle (12 oz) at the Mondial de la Bière in Montreal, 2006. The pour is a clear dark amber-bronze with a faint trace of whipped foam....spicy PNW hops in the nose, pungent and strong with a touch of acrid smoke and a certain "meatiness" (mmm, bacon-hops).....the body is alas a touch thin and watery, offering ill supporting strength to the solid hop bitterness throughout, though there is a nice moderately sweet maltiness evident....towards the finish, dry and twiggy with some nice spicy herbal character, perhaps a bit of lemon verbena ....I found little fruitiness, and the overall dryness/bitterness was a bit problematic. Decent, though.

Light in color and in taste, this is not an agressively hopped IPA. A bit more fruity and light than I would prefer, but an easy drinking beer.

Robe blonde dorée très claire surmontée d’une mousse blanche qui persiste. Arômes de diacétyl et de malt caramel. Saveurs de caramel, de houblon résineux et d’agrumes.

on draft. relatively clear orange, long lasting off white head, medium carbonation. Aroma: floral with some minor citrus hops coming through, malt. Taste: Slightly bitter and citrusy up front with some sweet malt, wood, with a smooth bitter finish. a very drinkable ipa, although I usually like my ipa’s a bit more hoppy.
