Commercial Description:
At the request of you hopheads, we produced this I.P.A. with a deep golden color, plenty of hop bitterness balanced by malt sweetness. Because of the extensive dry hopping, there’s a floral and citrus hop finish. It’s then lightly filtered to maintain the appropriate body and flavor. The beer features a combination of American, English and German malts to balance the large amount of hops. The HopFish also uses three hop varieties at five different times and has been dry-hopped for two weeks with 22lbs of Nugget whole leaf hops.

Bottle courtesy of funknmilla. Thanks! Pours copper with a nice rocky white head. Smells of citrus, spice, dry malt, some earthy hints. Tastes citrussy and dry with some nice doughy hints. Very enjoyable.

12oz bottle. Pours orange/copper color with nice white head. Hop aroma is moderate with floral and pine notes. This is a lighter IPA in terms of bitterness, but it does have strong hop flavors mostly pine. Finishes fairly dry. A nice IPA.

Bottle courtesy of Juart. Probably a little bit longer than I should let an IPA sit in my basement, but it poured with a huge amount of carbonation. 3 finger cream colored frothy head. Good retention and a ton of lacing. A golden amber color with a slight chill haze. The aroma has a lot of sweet sticky citrus hop, but also a creamy caramel smell. Almost like a caramel sundae. The flavor doesn’t have as much of the bright hops as I expected. Very grassy and earthy with a little bit of floral note. A bit of a metallic flavor, but that might be from the age of the bottle. A decent brown sugar sweetness to it. The finish on it is surprisingly dry. It has a nice warming alcohol feeling left in the mouth to accompany the bitterness. Not anything great, but pretty solid.

Mostly clear, deep golden with a thick and fizzy white head. Spicy citrus and hay with a distinct malt back in the nose. Mild (for an IPA) bitterness, and understated malt flavor -- I expected more after the aromas. Still, nice sweet malt with touches of honey and glaze under some woodsy-tang hops. Finishes long with a crisp, dry bitterness showing through.

Copper color with a white head. Aroma of hops, floral-mild. Taste of spice, hops, malts, and citrus. Well-balance. Not much bite for an IPA.

This is a nice beer, but doesn’t taste anything like an IPA. The aroma is flowery hops mixed with caramel malt and the flavor profile seriously leans more towards malty. There’s a slight hop presence, but no real bitterness to be found.........and the copper coloring, beautiful tanish-white head, and malty flavor make this a great ESB. Better than Flying Fish’s own Amber/ESB. I’d buy this again, but it’s certainly no IPA.

Amber colour nice little head. malty and slightly hoppy. Not the overly strong hop taste some ipas bring. I like the ever-present malt flavor that stays in you mouth. It may not appeal to the IPA purist, but I like this malty take on the IPA.
