Commercial Description:
This robust dark brew has been created using rich Columbian dark roast coffee to celebrate our 10th anniversary in royal fashion. The enticing regal aromas of toffee and licorice lead to the coronation of taste; a palate of malty richness exhibiting chocolate and coffee notes, balanced by the noble and novel Mt. Rainer hop, all topped with a rich creamy crown. This very special offering will warm your soul and lift your spirits. Oh yeah, it also packs a royal kick at 8% alcohol.

Poured with little to no head. Tanish/Brownish foam. Dark Amber/Black color. Hints of coffee, espresso, chocolate and alcohol. Bitter, suble espresso/coffee taste while it’s in the mouth. Aftertaste, a bunch of coffee and espresso. Great Porter.

I was very happy with this except for the lack of Espresso taste. It was kind of mild. I would have like it to be a little stronger in the Espresso taste. It was a steady taste though. Unlike Triumphs Coffee & Cream that had the cooffe hit the back of the throat. If you can get it, do it! It’s well worth it.

Pour was a dark dark brown color with nice off colored head. Aroma was of coffee and cocoa. Floave was good coffee, and chocolate some bitterness either from the coffee or hop. Mouthfeel was outstanding smooth. Solid beer.

Bottle from JB175; Nose of coffee, chocolate, and vanilla; clear walnut color with a medium tan head; flavor of coffee, cherries, and chocolate from the medium thin body, with a light but bitter hop finish. Thin but more complex than some porters.

Bottle, courtesy of WeeHeavySD (thanks!), pours a thin cola brown with a minimal tan head, no lacing. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, nuts, and light chocolate. Taste in roasty coffee, malts and a bit of mild chocolate. Palate is light and thin, with medium carbonation. This one is kind of a toss up to me; the aroma and flavor is nice, but very unexpectedly thin, which is somewhat distracting. Overall, not bad though.

Bottle from the Foodery in Philly. Pours dark brown/black with a light beige head. Looks rather nice in my snifter. Medium mouthfeel. Aroma is very roasty and nutty, with not as much coffee as I was expecting. Flavor of caramel, dark chocolate, nuts, and subtle coffee. Finish is moderately bitter and semi dry, with some slight sourness and some pleasant lingering coffee flavors. Not too shabby. This is bold in flavor without being a huge beer.

Thin tan coloured head, dark nearly black body. Coffee, chocolate, roasted malts in the aroma. Sweet taste with the aroma players in the flavour. Very drinkable despite the alcohol and chewy body.
