Jun 17, 2007 12oz bottle, thanks to dickinsons beer for this extra. one of my new favorite traders! pours black with small white head. nose has some stale coffee and licorice. a rather robust nose. flavor has some sharp stale coffee, day old melted chocolate, and black licorice. some dark fruits and toffee too. wow i’m not a fan of this flavor. cloyingly sweet feels silky on my tongue for a long time. mf is thin and syrupy. carbonation is low. oh man this is a sweet coffee and licorice mess.

Jun 12, 2007 12 oz bottle thanks to dickinsonbeer. Pours black with a white head. Lots of coffee/espresso notes in the nose with some chocolate. Fizzy carbonation with creamy flavors, chocolate-coffee-milk-mocha all related and blending into one another. As it warms the sweetness comes out becoming a little too much, but a decent beer none the less. Thanks again paul!

Jun 7, 2007 Creamy chocolate toffee coffee aroma,as good of a roasted aroma as I’ve enjoyed in a while, taste is coffee with at least three little cartons of toffeee cream,a very high quality coffee at that,roasted coffee bean bitterness in aftertaste,hard to believe its 8.2% has an oatmeal like silky texture,no flaws ,got this as an extra from someone,excellent

Jun 3, 2007 Courtesy of Boboski. Many thanks, Jason. The aroma is very coffee accented with a dose of chocolate and cream, but the intesnity is not really very high. The body is a soft ruddy brown and holds a rapidly diminishing tan head. Mild roast with lots of coffee/chocolate and a sweet vanilla cream note. Decent and fairly heady with alcohol int he finish. Maybe a bit one dimensional, but I’m a sucker for coffee so I like that dimension.

Jun 3, 2007 Bottle (12oz). via trade with Zathrus13. Clear deep mahogany with a small fizzy tan diminishing head (3-). Fairly dry aroma, nutty deep roast malt, roast coffee beans and maybe some minty hops. Taste - syrupy, cold sweet turkish coffee and root beer extract, slightly metallic, and it just doesn’t come together at all. Sticky yet light body, oddly acidic, quite bitter for all that syrup, invisibly boozy (I can’t explain that) with a metallic aftertaste. Odd, harsh and not a lot of fun to drink, really.

Jun 1, 2007 Poured mostly flat, no lace to speak of. Clear almost black color cept for a bit of a red tinge showing threw. Nose of very faint roast, coffee? Testermans model glue and a hint of cocoa. Body is light, flat, almost dead i,d say. Boring, flat, chocolatey, roasty? coffee? plasticy, ultimately lousy tasting excuse for a beer. Thanks god it,s an imperial beer! Finish is sorta sweet and worty, too long. Blah. Typical FF brew. What a waste of perfectly good beer bottles.

May 30, 2007 12oz bottle, courtesy of LordMaynard. Thanks, Russ! Pours a dark cherry-cola color; thin, light-tan head with patchy lacing. Prominent roasted coffee notes in the aroma upfront; hints of roasted malts and milk chocolate. Fizzy carbonation; too much. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: roasted and slightly vegetal coffee character; licorice and dried dark fruits; an almost syrupy sweetness really takes away from this, like syrupy cheap toffee. Medium, roasted coffee and sweet toffee finish. Too sweet.

May 27, 2007 Dark brown color. Ok aroma. Brown sugar, light chocolate and maple flavors, with hints of caramel, toast and roast. Low intensity coffee addition provides a very light espresso character. It’s pretty complex, unique and enjoyable, but I wish the coffee character was amped up.
