Commercial Description:
This robust dark brew has been created using rich Columbian dark roast coffee to celebrate our 10th anniversary in royal fashion. The enticing regal aromas of toffee and licorice lead to the coronation of taste; a palate of malty richness exhibiting chocolate and coffee notes, balanced by the noble and novel Mt. Rainer hop, all topped with a rich creamy crown. This very special offering will warm your soul and lift your spirits. Oh yeah, it also packs a royal kick at 8% alcohol.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep dark brown with a small head that quickly diminshes. Aroma was alcohol, with some coffee and dark fruit notes. Flavor was exceptional and hid the alcohol well except for a slight warming sensation. Nicely suprised by this one.

12oz. bottle. Mukry dark brown-orange with a small light brown head. Chocolate and coffee aromatics, some earthy hops peer through as well. Chalky chocolate and coffeebean flavors dominate, roasty and dark alefruit undertones. Residual dark chocolate and bitter coffee in the finish, with an earthy herbal hop component. Mouthfeel is a heavy medium, somewhat chewy.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with ruby highlights. Aroma is chocolate, a good amount of coffee, caramel, and light notes of dark fruit. Taste is chocolate, nutty grain, roasty coffee, with a fruity and lightly astringent finish. not a very complex imperial porter, but still very well done.

12 oz bottle from Mr. Bendo. Dark as night. Aroma is strong roasted malts and coffee. Flavor is awesome - Dark malts, coffee, with a hint of sweetness, perhaps caramel. Mouthfeel is a tad bit watery, but otherwise, a nearly perfect Porter. Im actually surprised at some of the recent reviews. I actually think this is one of the best porters I have had.

Sampled on 2/3/07 courtesy of boboski: Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a thin, wispy, light tan head. Aroma of slightly earthy toasty dark malt with a hint of coffee. Body starts with a touch of caramely sweetness, some earthy roasty coffee and dark chocolate with a touch of tartness. A decent brew, but could use a little more complexity.
