Commercial Description:
This robust dark brew has been created using rich Columbian dark roast coffee to celebrate our 10th anniversary in royal fashion. The enticing regal aromas of toffee and licorice lead to the coronation of taste; a palate of malty richness exhibiting chocolate and coffee notes, balanced by the noble and novel Mt. Rainer hop, all topped with a rich creamy crown. This very special offering will warm your soul and lift your spirits. Oh yeah, it also packs a royal kick at 8% alcohol.

bottle. pours a dark brown with little head... aromas of licorice and toffee really come through... smooth and rich across the palate... roasted malts... the coffee shines in the finish, almost with a Kahlua aftertaste. overall a very good porter -- glad I picked up a bottle while in Philly.

I’m breaking my virginity with a local favorite: she is a dark brown beer with the aroma of a pot of freshly roasted coffee. She provided a quick cream taste that gets overwhelmed with a strong lasting espresso flavor...if you’re paying attention she will offer a slender hint of chocolate. I was slightly disappointed as she offered a beautiful frothy head but fizzled out for a common rim job. Our paths shall meet again.

12oz bottle. Light aroma of cocoa butter, faint coffee, some chocolate syrup and some very light roast. Flavor is also mostly light, with a nice creamy chocolate syrup flavor and just barely a hint of java. Creamy and moderately thick, and ultimately enjoyable even if it isn’t very complex.

Bottle. Aroma of coffee and roast malts, light coccoa. Pours a deep dark brown with a light off white fizzy head. Flavor is highly coffee and toffee well balanced. Palate is nicely inviting and warm, the alcohol is present but not overly so. Overall I enjoyed this very much.
