| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 20, 2009 12oz Bottle: Very dark brown w/ a small light brown head. Nice roasted malt aroma: Coffee, chocolate, caramel & a bit of nuttiness. Heavy roasted malts in the flavor, seems just a little astringent. Coffee, dark chocolate & a touch of caramel. Full, robust beer, leaves a oily coffee flavor behind. Older bottle, about 1.5 years, held up pretty well. BOLTZ7555 (1107), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Dark leather pour with a creamy eggshell colored head that left a touch of lacing. Aroma is cocoa powder, molasses, and roasted coffee. Quite flavorful and rich with brown sugar, caramel, chocolate and coffee present. Medium mouthfeel. Pretty good beer!!! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2009 From dmac via trade. Poured super dark brown, bordered on black. A nice brown head formed. Spots of lacing hung around. The aroma was mostly coffee (espresso) with some sweeter sugars cutting through. The flavor was coffee, chocolate and roasted malts. A touch of sourness crept in towards the finish. The mouthfeel was average and the finish was fairly succinct. OK. If this had said "stout" instead of "imperial porter" I would have believed them. Hard to tell much difference. 41cubs (145), , New Jersey, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 5, 2009 Smells of burnt coffee grounds and raisins with a sharp black licorice bite. Flavor is upfront deep roast earthy coffee beans and a lactose like sweetness. This beer is not smooth nor is it balanced but it’s strangely endearing somehow. Mouthfeel flimsy and terribly average. Wierd attempt here. Thanks Flying Fish. 2009 12oz. glkaiser (1171), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Dark brown with medium head. Freaking beautiful espresso and chocolate malt aroma. Slightly sweet chocolate malts and light espresso throughout the taste. Espresso is more intense in the aroma. Rich malt keeps going. Drinks light for its 8.2% ABV. Big thanks to mpollack for this one. A bit thin. ansermadide (521), Kyle, Texas, USA

Aroma is nutty, almost of hazelnut. Flavor of lite espresso. Very well-flavored. Well done... SuzyGreenberg (1409), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2009 Pours a deep brown-black with a small dark tan head that was gone quickly. Strong aroma of coffee with a slight malty-sweet undertone. Slightly oily on the tongue. Strong flavor of coffee that lingers on the tongue. Noted a slight acidity to the finish, possibly also due to the coffee. Very nice.
