Commercial Description:
First released in 2002, and sold out in two weeks. A tribute to the classic Fest styles of Germany the O'Fish uses European malts hops and yeast. A beautiful reddish color, a savory malt profile and nice hop flavor, make this Fest beer quite drinkable. OktoberFish is great with food and especially great with Lederhosen.

Malts: Muessdoerffer Munich, Muessdoerffer Vienna, Pauls Amber, Dingemanns De-Bittered Black and Two-row pale
Hops: Horizon, Crystal
Yeast: Dusseldorf Alt
Original Gravity: 14.3 Plato
Formats: 1/2 kegs, 1/6 kegs, cask-conditioned
Availability: September 1 to November 1 (if it lasts that long)

Courtesy of Afterexile. <P> Perfumey floral notes..highly aromatic. Copper in color with a nice thick white head and moderate lacing. Flavor is mostly malt sweetness with a kick of dark fruits toward the finish. Low key flavor wise, but enjoyable and fun to sip at.

pours a cloudy orange/amber hue with a halo of a white head. aromas of mint, perfume, a little citrus and a hint of flowers. Mouthfeel is light-bodied with flavors of roasted nuts, a light bitterness, a little hint of skunk, but a good skunk. Carbonation is very active as it tingles the mouth. One of the better altbiers, yet I still don’t think this is a winner.

Bottled. Via trade with afterexile. Pours a ruby red color with an almost electric red hue. White head that diminishes quickly leaving good lacing. Aroma is malty and yeasty with a floral note. I find the flavor a bit difficult to grasp, I’d probably need a few bottles. Tastes malty with a very lager-like yeast strain flavor. I cannot pick out the hops. Slight flavors of cherries, grass and soil. Very dry finish. The flavor grows on me a bit as it warms but the shocking dry finish is a little too much for me. I’d love to actually sit down with a few of these and really concentrate on what’s going on in it but, since I only have the one bottle, I’m switching the brain off now and I’ll just enjoy the rest of this.

Sweet and malty aroma. Flavor is a bit more sweet than anything, with no real malts or spices to balance it out. There is a light hoppy finish to this one, but overall this is just a bit on the dull side. A very dry tasting beer with none of the flavors being very pronounced.

Pours a clear copper color with a nice off-white head. Excellent lacing; this is a great-looking beer! And the flavor wasn’t bad either! I enjoyed the light carbonation and the malty flavor. This is my new favorite fest style.

On tap at Ortinos Restaraunt. Pours a translucent golden amber with a nice fluffy off white head that went away quickly though. Aroma is caramel and malts, light overall. Flavor is slightly earthy, malty and I was even picking up a little alcohol and citrus in the taste.

Bottle: Orange tinted pale copper, clear, moderate to small off-white head, fairly nice lacing, light carbonation.   Mash aroma, grainy, but also somewhat sweet and doughy.   Sweet grass, a bit darker, malty, slight corn syrup or molasses at the finish.   Not bad.   Body and mouthfeel are faily average.   More flavorful than most.   I can dig it.   Thanks Jeff!
