It pours as an amber ale should but hops burst through out of no where! It’s great..works perfectly with the balance of malt. Great brewing..Go Fly-Fishin in Okt.! | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2005 On cask at Andy’s. Dark copper color with a small off white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and a bit of hops. Flavor was pretty much the same, but the hops were more noticeable in the flavor than the aroma. Tried both the regular keg version and the cask, with the cask being much smoother in the palate. The best Oktoberfest at Andy’s Oktoberfest

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2005 Mahagony/Copper pour supporting a thick and fairly long lasting dusky khaki head. Nutty and malty aroma with some hops, a touch of earthy smoke and a hint of vanilla. Strong but not overpowering malt flavor in keeping with the style with a nice balance of hops and toasted nuts. Finish was crisp and slightly sweet with a hint of toffee and the mouthfeel was nothing special. Overall, a nice Festbier and one worth trying if you see it locally.
