Commercial Description:
First released in 2002, and sold out in two weeks. A tribute to the classic Fest styles of Germany the O'Fish uses European malts hops and yeast. A beautiful reddish color, a savory malt profile and nice hop flavor, make this Fest beer quite drinkable. OktoberFish is great with food and especially great with Lederhosen.

Malts: Muessdoerffer Munich, Muessdoerffer Vienna, Pauls Amber, Dingemanns De-Bittered Black and Two-row pale
Hops: Horizon, Crystal
Yeast: Dusseldorf Alt
Original Gravity: 14.3 Plato
Formats: 1/2 kegs, 1/6 kegs, cask-conditioned
Availability: September 1 to November 1 (if it lasts that long)

Out of a bottle. Aroma caramel toasted malts and light hop. Poured a nice amber with a nice head. Flavor was as advertised in the nose, carmelly malted nice hop to balance almost tasted biscuity. Palate was good and easy. Overall good.

Out of the bottle I loved this Jersey-made Marzen style brew. 3 years in a row this has been one of the best made micro-brew Oktoberfests. It pours as an amber ale should but hops burst through out of no where! It’s great..works perfectly with the balance of malt. Great brewing..Go Fly-Fishin in Okt.!

On cask at Andy’s. Dark copper color with a small off white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and a bit of hops. Flavor was pretty much the same, but the hops were more noticeable in the flavor than the aroma. Tried both the regular keg version and the cask, with the cask being much smoother in the palate. The best Oktoberfest at Andy’s Oktoberfest party.

Bottle from Union Jack’s, Boyertown. Pours deep copper with a 2-finger head. Aroma of caramel malt, toffee, hops, cinnamon, slight butyric acid. Tastes caramel malty, with toffee, brown sugar, and a little butyric acid in the taste. Medium palate.

Tap at Andy’s. This was a great O-fest. It had a caramel nose, good mouth feel, small bitter after taste, Brought you back for more. I loved this.

Mahagony/Copper pour supporting a thick and fairly long lasting dusky khaki head. Nutty and malty aroma with some hops, a touch of earthy smoke and a hint of vanilla. Strong but not overpowering malt flavor in keeping with the style with a nice balance of hops and toasted nuts. Finish was crisp and slightly sweet with a hint of toffee and the mouthfeel was nothing special. Overall, a nice Festbier and one worth trying if you see it locally.
