| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 19, 2004 Great copper coloured body with a perfectly dense tan head. This is exactly what you’d want a autumn beer to look like! Aroma of fresh low a.a. hops, citrus, nuts, malt, toffee and some caramel. Medium-bodied; Strong nuttiness up front with some metal and blood tastes. Aftertaste shows some caramel and other sweetness, but hardly any character, malt or hops. Overall, a decent beer-I’m not sure why this is classified as an Alt, but it really doesn’t matter-this one doesn’t deliver. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 19-December-2004. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 10, 2004 A fine Ocktoberfest. I had this on tap at Mainstreet. The taste was really nice. Good like Paulaner and Hacker Schorr. This beer goes really nicely with any meal, and also goes well if you follow it with a Hefeweizen. Very good. Yankovitch333 (612), Chesapeake City, Maryland, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 28, 2004 Poured a light amber with a big off-white head. Light fruit, bread, and malt on the nose. Thin mouthfeel. Spice, citrus, light fruit, doughy, with dash of hops. Decent lingering aftertaste. Altbier? I am not so sure about that. wasn’t a bad beer but nothing spectacular. freekyp (903), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 7, 2004 An excellent domestic version of the Octoberfest style, this beer poured deep reddish brown with a mid-sized bubbly head. Sweet and spicy all at once, this brew sports a more in-your-face flavor profile than most German renditions I’ve had. Sweet, but not cloying, with a balanced hop profile, Octoberfish does have a slightly astringent finish, but I think it adds to the flavor profile as it interacts with the otherwise sweet middle in an unusual and pleasing way.
