Aroma of lightly toasted grainy caramel and German malts with a touch of noble hops. Body starts with a light caramel malty sweetness some decent bittering hop balance and a crisp, bittersweet finish. Very drinkable, but could use a little thicker body. hopscotch (5501), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

The nose is a bit restrained, but is toasty, caramely and sweet. Medium to full-bodied with a slick mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Malty, caramely flavor is a touch cloying. Finishes crisp with a mild hop zing, but winds up a touch too sweet in the end. Thanks to otakuden for the bottle! Cletus (5056), Connecticut, USA

Color is dark golden brown, and body is clear. Small white filmy head. Candied sweet caramel malt nose with some light orange notes as well... but overall it smells very striaghtforward and sweet. Flavor is just a little too sweet up front, then over the middle it has some stewed corn and cabbage with brown sugar and maple flavors - good stuff. Finished with a wet caramel malt and grain flavor. Decent, but tasted side-by-side with Stoudt’s Oktoberfest it comes up short. I realize this is supposed to be an altbier, so I was hoping for more crisp hops and snappy biscuit malts. Still good.
