Commercial Description:
First released in 2002, and sold out in two weeks. A tribute to the classic Fest styles of Germany the O'Fish uses European malts hops and yeast. A beautiful reddish color, a savory malt profile and nice hop flavor, make this Fest beer quite drinkable. OktoberFish is great with food and especially great with Lederhosen.

Malts: Muessdoerffer Munich, Muessdoerffer Vienna, Pauls Amber, Dingemanns De-Bittered Black and Two-row pale
Hops: Horizon, Crystal
Yeast: Dusseldorf Alt
Original Gravity: 14.3 Plato
Formats: 1/2 kegs, 1/6 kegs, cask-conditioned
Availability: September 1 to November 1 (if it lasts that long)

Medium/dark amber color - a little cloudy with a thin uneven head. Aroma is bready and slightly earthy. Flavor is moderately sweet, but rather muddy without any crisp roastiness or well-formed body. Finish lingers a bit and is a little sticky. Nothing worth trying again.

Clear amber. Small, off white head. Aroma of toasty, grainy malt, a very light caramel sweetness, subtle and unexpected hints of lemon, and a light dose of herbal hops. Flavor adds more umph to the malt presence in the form of biscuit and old grains and more caramel. Dry, grainy finish. Medium, balanced body. Good brew. From notes.

Amber with a white head. Lightly toasty grainy aroma, some sweeter toffee notes and a hint of spice. Balanced malty flavor. Sweet, toasty, a little nutty. A light nutmeg-like spiciness. Tasty.

12oz bottle from dmac. Pours amber with virtually no head. Smells of sweet, cereal malts and a hint of spice. Tastes good. More smooth and flavorful and less metallic tasting than many other O’Fests I’ve had. Sweet, caramel malts, slight spice flavor, almost pumpkin like. Medium body, slight syrup, good carbonation. Smooth.

From dmac via trade. The pour was copper, the head white. Very little lacing. The aroma was sweet malts and a bit of grain. The flavor too was dominated by tons of sweet malts and some grain. Light citrus towards the finish. Thin mouthfeel.

Bottle from Dmac. Thanks, David!
Pours a nice, chunky amber with a healthy head of white that leaves a delicate latticework of lacing. Aroma is watery isopryl alcohol base with chunks of pumpkin biscuit floating in it. Flavor is a delicate balance of nutty malt, roasted malt, and a touch of pumpkin spice in the finish. Tingly mouthfeel that subsides too quickly. A nice beer; I’d drink this again.
