Lots of BIG floaties. Aroma is definite coffee, chocolate, and caramel malts. Is that fruit esters I taste? A bit thin for the style. Very good. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 20, 2003 Dark brown color, tan head. The nose is light coffee, but the selling point is the nice fresh roasty start is gets; a touch of fruit as well. The body is coffeeish and lightly spritzy with a slightly candyish roast aspect in the middle. The finish has some light hops but unfortunately dries up and ends up being quite thin. At times the mouthfeel was somewhat chalky which wasn't helping any. A nice porter, but somewhat thin and lacking. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 17/20 | May 14, 2003 Roasty/toasty chocolate malts dominate. It's a rather malty beer, and you've got to give credit to FF Brewing for not skimping on the ingredients here. The hop content is somewhat light to moderate, so don't expect a bitter porter. Very nice. MikeF (528), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Gigantic head that filled the entire glass upon pouring only half an ounze in. Thats an understatment - this head is out of control! Chocolaty start roasted end. Hoppy dry finish. Carbonation level is a little on the high side - for a second I can trick myself in to thinking I am drinking Coke. metalboozer (28), Jamison, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 22, 2003 Very drak brown in color with a thin mocha head. Enterntaining to drink, just a plain old solid ale. As expected you get the chocolate and coffee notes and then wash them down with slight hoppiness leading to a crisp finish.
