Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a dark brown color with ruby highlights and a big light tan head that slowly dissolves and leaves some lacing. Aroma is of rich roasted malts and alcohol with hints of dark fruit, coffee and chocolate. Taste is of rich roasted malts with aromatic hops and notes of coffee, chocolate and dark fruit. Medium to full bodied and well carbonated. Roasted malt and coffee ending with chocolate notes.

Bottle. For the money Flying Fish just doesn’t do it for me so this limits my expectations. The taste is decent but not very flavorfull. Decent body but not balanced well. Overall not a bad beer but not my favorite.

Found this bottle in the fridge at a hallowen party, quickly snatched it up. Pures dark with little tan head. Nutty, roasted malt smell. The taste was thre same with slight sweetness and nutty finish.

Bottle drank at the Brickskeller during RBSG 06 DC Weekend Brown tinged black, light head and lacing. Nose of light vinegar, roast and sweet chocolate. The flavor is chewy, light char and some vanilla coffee notes. The finish is dry, a bit hoppy and the roast doesn’t linger.

From bottle thanks to Immy. Dark mahogany pour with thin head. Nose of roasted chocolate malt and coffee. Flavor follows with a silky mouth feel. Well done.

Smells of coffee, chocolate and wheat. Pours black with a small off white head. It has a sweet, light, chocolate flavor. It is smooth but watered down.

Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours a dark brown with a medium sized lasting tan head, good aroma of roasted malts and chocolate, the taste is coffee-like and chocolate-like. I just wasn’t digging this one.
