| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Aug 20, 2007 Pours a light, clear copper with a small, creamy, off-white cap of head. On the nose is an odd plastic-like funk that hides lesser notes of fruity hops and caramel maltiness. Light to medium-bodied, thin and lively with a short mildly dry finish. Bready caramel malts, cardboard and a bit of the plastic on the nose followed by a lightly bitter and dry hoppy finish. I’d love to say that I like this beer, given that it’s brewed down the street, but in reality, I can’t think of another amber that I haven’t preferred to this one. I have to wonder if the recipe for this one has changed over the past few years, as it seems to have received consistently higher praise in its early days vs. today. Flavor is toasty with some fruity sweetness. Some hops. I guess average would be an adequate description. JFURYCAT (791), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Bottle from trade at a split in NEPA. It seemed like an average watery amber but there was something strange about this beer. There is this sweet caramel flavor in here but it gets a bready tone when the rest of the beer waters it down. topherh (936), Kearney, Missouri, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/20 | Jun 19, 2007 12 oz bottle poured a nice amber with very little white head. Aroma is grainy. Taste is grainy/malty with no hops. People in KC rave about this and I am still not sure why. There are much better choices in the area in Boulevard, The River Market Brewery, McCoys Brewery, and 75th St Brewery; in no particular order. Outside of KC I personally know of much betteramber ales. dwyerpg (2545), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Not much aroma and not much else in this beer either. Thin and just a little malty, it’s mostly just boring with a little crispness but that’s about it. jcwattsrugger (5532), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 17, 2007 12oz bottle-pours a fizzy, foamy to rocky light tan head and amber color. Aroma is mild bready, medium malt-some caramel, very faint hops. Taste is thin mild bready, medium malt, fruity, medium hops-flat bite (English?). Not bad although a bit light, buttery and some astringency. OK carbonation. Grandpa (325), Verona, New York, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 8, 2007 It poured a clear light amber color with a tight bubbled white head. The head lasted awhile but didn’t leave sip lines or lacing. It was slightly acidic on the tip of the tongue. Not much malt flavor. The hops came through with bitterness that a short aftertaste. It didn’t fill the characteristics of an Amber. Not much there to distinguish it.Not much there to recommend it. Harsebrau (164), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Feb 4, 2007 Awful. beer. Not a lot to write about. Zero carbonation. Effortless aroma. Cardboard flavor. Should have nibbled the sixer box.
