Medium-bodied ale, very smooth, with amazingly no bitter aftertaste. Was nice and refreshing during the hot summer walk around the festival. My husband is in love with it, says it is his new favorite. I had a couple and he had about 8 of them before we left the festival. KAggie97 (2482), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA

Aroma is bourbon and roasted nut. Flavor is a subtle peach and strawberry, but the mouthfeel is too watery to really make the imbiber care. All name and no game. I could enjoy many of these bad boys from the midwest.
Amber pour, doughy aroma, woody, nutty taste. Nice allfreej (376), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Medium body, mildly malty falvor with a bit of hops in the finish. A weak, lackluster brew that I’ll not try again. hopdog (5630), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Aromas of caramel, citrus and I’m getting a graininess as well. Tastes of pretty much the same if not weaker than the weak aromas. Body was thin and watery. seamus77 (31), kansas city, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 20, 2006 this american-amber is for me, exactly what I’d want and expect in the style, a simple, straight-forward, med-light bodied carmel-malt brew, easy to drink, neither too malty, too hoppy, too strong, perfect for summer heat and not too overbearing for simple american food pairings (pizza, burgers, fries, etc). this is what new belgium’s fat tire should have tasted like. Tart and sharp. Almost an oatmeal cookie aspect. In the end, I consider this an average amber beer at best. SledgeJr (3004), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Very poor head retention. weak body. Fizzy. Thin palate. Finishes with a whimper. This would have been the worst beer at the festival had Granite City not shown up.
