The color? Who cares! The aroma? Smells like beer that I WANT to drink! The flavor? Good; very good beer. There is a lingering taste of sweet caramel and the flavor reveals some "aged" character (yet it was obviously a fresh beer!)..

Bottle: I will drive out of my way up to Kansas to get this beer to add to my favorites rotation. Finishes smooth but with a full-bodied taste. Leaves my palate wanting more.

Flying Monkey Amber Ale pours a deep rich copper, topped by about an inch of nearly white foam. This dissolves in a few minutes, leaving a film and a ring behind. Good lacing. Very nice toasted bready malt in the aroma. The flavor is full of toasted malt - quite dry and slightly nutty. A hint of fruity sweetness and just enough hop bitterness come through in the aftertaste. I like it a lot. Good balance. Almost medium body, moderate carbonation. Nothing flashy here, but darned drinkable.

I don’t know what it is about a good Amber that makes me rate them as high as I do. I guess its my tastebuds saying, "You know what? This is a solid Amber!" Not sure what everybody else thinks but this is very much a classic Amber and if you haven’t consumed one you should. Very good Beer.

Nice hop presence. A bit zingy but smooth overall. Caramel malt presence provides good sweetness.

Tried this bottled yesterday at the Kansas City Renaissance festival. Medium-bodied ale, very smooth, with amazingly no bitter aftertaste. Was nice and refreshing during the hot summer walk around the festival. My husband is in love with it, says it is his new favorite. I had a couple and he had about 8 of them before we left the festival.

I really liked this beer for it’s refreshing flavor/mouth feel. Some might say it is weak but man - I loved it for not trying to over do the hops as so many beers do these days.

Amber-caramel malt aroma. Light amber color and quite decent carbonation and head. Somewhat reminiscent of the bready/sweet flavors that I enjoyed in the last 6-pack of Redhook ESB I got. Smooth body and palate. Pretty good!
