Very nice ebony black color with minimal tan head that dissipates rapidly. Leaves a thin bubble film on top which produces decent, but minimal, lacing. Smells of dark chocolate and nutty, roasted malts. Light coffee notes. Tastes of burnt coffee and bittersweet chocolates. Minimal sweetness, which could benefit from being bumped up a slight bit. Light lingering bitterness. Carbonation is dead-on perfect. Feels good in the mouth but could use a bit more creaminess. Perhaps a bit more malts could help make this bigger and better. Several in a row could be thrown back easily. My only concern is that the bitterness would eventually build up.

Thanks to Sammy, via Mike. Black, rich tan head. Nose is roasty & slightly milky with some licorice. Flavor is largely the same - big roast, sweet caramel/toffee, a bit sweet in the finish with a little hop.

A more than competent stout that lives up to its rating. Pours black with a whisp of a white head. Decent roasty aroma. About average mouthfeel, with some chocolate in there. Very drinkable stout.

Bottle extra in a trade. Pours a black rich body with a tan head. Light smokey peat nose with hints of coffee bitterness. Starts lightly sweet with notes of chocolate with a light oily mouth feel and finishes with a moderate coffee bitterness a bit cloying. Simple with a nice roastiness reminds me more of an oatmeal stout
