Pours black, tan head. Flavor is roasts, some milk chocolate, coffee, and maybe smoke. Mouthfeel was thin. Run of the mill stout.

12 oz bottle from unclemike. Pours an opaque black with a tan head that quickly recedes. The aroma is dusty and earthy with cardboard and some roasted malts. As I poured the beer it made an audible fizz like a soda being poured into a glass. I suspect this is artificially carbonated. The flavor was also earthy with a small amount of biter walnuts and some dark chocolate. The mouthfeel was thin and weak with a gritty after-effect. The finish was short and dry with lingering chocolate. Overall: A very interesting and drinkable stout, but I wish they had done a bit better on the palate. Very nice. Thanks mike.

bottle Pours black with a creamy, dark tan head. The aroma is quite muted, primarily roasted malt and a touch of coffee. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied, lively and quite astringent. This beer literally strips all moisture from my tongue. The flavor is bitter chocolate & coffee with a lightly metallic and dry finish. This one takes the term "dry" stout to the extreme I finished this beer more thirsty than when I began it.

Pitch black coloured body with a very nice dense light brown head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of deep roasted malt, sweet vanilla, oak, coffee and a bit of sour milk. Medium-bodied; Strong roasty assertiveness up front with a mellow tannic taste coupled with nuts, roasted malt and a bit of caramel. Aftertaste shows some nice lactic tastes and a complex mouthful - definitely drying though. Overall, a good and complex beer, my first from this brewer and definitely not my last! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased earlier today at Goebel Liquor in Wichita, Kansas on 25-March-2008.

Bottle courtesy of golubj. Pours stout black of course with some tan head. Really nice aroma here with some sweet chocolate and roast. The latter smell is dominant in the taste, though some chocolate comes out as well. Only knock on this one is that the palate was pretty thin. A nice surprise.

Bottle: Pours near opaque with brown head. Great roasty aroma. Lots of chocolate and coffee. Appetizing. The body is lacking, but the flavor is great. Rich roasted presence with plenty of mocha and coffee. Smooth and tasty.

Dark black beer with a thin dark brown head. Aroma is very sweet and chocolatey. Milk chocolate and a touch of earthy character. Flavour is very chcolatey with just a soft roastiness on the back. I quite like this actually.

Dark brown body with a tiny tan head - fading. Big roasted nose with chocolate, molasses, coffee and light pitted fruits. The flavor is fairly dry with milk chocolate, roast, coffee. Pretty bland. Medium/light body is thin with soft carbonation.
