Better when enjoyed in DC waiting for the train from the tap. The downfall was probably the price, but the taste was much better than the other beers that sell there for $6 a glass. This one has some nice hoppy character. A beautiful amber colour and a white foamy head that sticks around. It hit the spot with my ballpark grub and had me smiling with its subtle malt, and nice spicy bite. It isn’t overpowering, or more than I have come to expect from a good APA, but it was a good beer on tap. BillKismet (1952), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 3, 2000 Mine was a slightly dark, ’foggy’ (chill haze?) colored ale. This definately had both bitter and sweet tones, far from having non-existant hops. While the nose and flavor weigh in slightly on the malt side, the initial aftertaste is mostly hops, subtle as it is. MainerInExile (41), Bangor, Maine, USA

I disagree with AUBREY that the hops were virtually non-existent. They are there. A little subtle, but definitely present. And Foggy Bottom has a nice smooth finish. Not a great ale, but worthy of a try. Tippie4 (97), Auburn, Maine, USA
