| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 13, 2002 very sweet both in aroma and actual flavor, darker than most Lagers with an amber/orange color and a small head. lacking considerably in the hops dept. This is a beer that may taste better colder than most beer geeks like. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Nov 26, 2002 What a crashing bore. This is the later incarnation of Olde Heurich Maerzen, which was one of the first micros I ever had, circa 1992. That one was delicious, with rich, complex malt and a bit of alcohol. This one is a generic East Coast amber lager with basically nothing to recommend it, though no noticeable flaws either. I rather despise this contract brewer for changing the recipe and taking the picture of his grandfather off the label (at least the latter was an actual brewer). Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA

No glass available; had to have it from the bottle, which I now don’t like to do thanks to the cursed RateBeer.
