Oct 13, 2008 A solid IPA. Lots of hops, not a lot in the way of balance, but I’m ok with that. If you like hops and are in NC this has got to be about as good as you can get.
It might be a touch one-dimensional for some, but I’d recommend it.

Oct 5, 2008 On draft at the WBF, Durham NC, poured a deep and hazy orange hue, nice size off white foamy head. Aroma strong of citrus flowers, pines, and hops. Flavour of a bold IPA, much the same as the aroma, extremely quaffable, sticky mouth feel. What an awesome gem of a beer from NC.

Sep 10, 2008 2008 Southern Brewers Fest . Tap. Deep amber color. Big hop floral aroma. Lots of citrus. Flavor is a complex hop bitterness. Decent malt character. Lots of hops. Floral hop flavor. A stamndard American IPA.

Aug 15, 2008 Backlogged rating. Had on tap at the Federal, Durham, NC, summer 2007. This was the first Foothills brew to make me really sit up and take notice. A huge grapefruity aroma wafting off the kind of cloudy orange body and solid foamberg one expects from the So Cal titans of the style. Wonderful use of simcoe makes this so delicious, several pints were had. If (when?) Jamie and co. start bottling, I will session the hell out of this beer.

Jul 26, 2008 Pours a nice orange color with a medium head. Aroma is fruity and hoppy. Very crisp flavors with limited malts, creating a nice hoppy brew. An IPA worth trying.

May 18, 2008 Sampled at the Savor DC event. Pours a clear orange amber with a frothy, rocky head. Aroma pine, hop resin and oils with some tropical fruits. Crisp, clean flavor or oranges, pine and citrus zest. Flavorful and drinkable. Quick side note: Jamie and the guys from Foothills were without a doubt some of the nicest guys at the entire event.

May 17, 2008 (Savor, draft) Medium off-white head atop clear amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, pineapple/grapefruit, mango, peach. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit/pine, some grassiness. Medium body, some resin.

May 17, 2008 Draft sample. Light hazy amber orange body. Big, catty Simcoe nose full of dried lemongrass and fresh cut grass, with a pungent odor more in line with Simcoe/urine/cattiness than cannibus/dank/wet hops. Flavor is sharply bitter and drying, direct hops and a heavy load of bitterness, with little to no malt astringency. Overall a really delicious IPA that hints of higher alcohol.
