jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA May 16, 2008 Not being familiar with this brewer, I didn’t quite know what to expect, but in the end, the label says it all. This beer is hop-packed, with a great, bitter flavor that shows off the Simcoe hops. It;s bitter, undoubtedly, but there is a progression to the bitterness that opens on the palate and makes the drinking experience worthwhile. I really got more than I expected out of this beer and its tremendous length on the palate. Good stuff, and nice smooth character. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA May 11, 2008 Amazing hop aroma. Simcoe is obvious in the flavor, but not overbearing and matches in perfect harmony with the other hops. Bitter finish. Very tasty. Naka (524), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 28, 2008 On tap at the brewery. A deep amber color with a small eggshell creamy head. The nose has a lot of citrus and floral character. Some peach grassy notes as well. The flavor is more earthy than fruity. Some nice dank citrus does come through. A really solid thick body. Kind of reminds me of Bells Two Hearted, but not quite as good. durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA Apr 27, 2008 They were Randalling (to borrow a Dogfish term) this puppy at the World Beer Fest in Raleigh, and the hops were fresh as can be. Poured right through fresh hops, my 2-oz pour had about 5 little hop leaves in it. Nice hop bitterness and good skunkiness. Citrus and intense up front, but lovely back palate. A great way to enjoy this brew. Nice one! mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Apr 19, 2008 Tap at Flying Saucer in Charlotte. small white creamy head into clear amber body with a light lacing remaining. aromas of moderate grapefruit, light malts and a touch of some skunk (not bad though). flavor is sweet into light bitter. long finish duration. slightly above average carbanation. dry, sticky textured mouthfeel. Good IPA. jobyone (234), Charlotte, USA Mar 18, 2008 Pours a clear amber with medium sized white head. The aroma has tons of hops. The flavor has a bit of sweet caramel but mostly dominated by the bitterness. Good long finish. jimbowood (947), Athens, Georgia, USA Jan 19, 2008 tap @ bp. with a name like hopyum, u better represent, and this beer doesn’t. good, drinkable, but nothing spectacular. wilkie (1189), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jan 3, 2008 Draught from keg at the World Beer Fest in downtown Raleigh in April. Pours copper, very slight haze, small white head, lacing. Very floral nose, pine, grapefruit. Flavor is hoppy, with some caramel. Would like a little more malt to back up the over the top hop presence, but good overall.
