Not too shabby. Pours a nice orange color with an ivory head. Aroma is heavy on the hops, especially for a regular IPA. Flavor is nice and crisp, very mellow hops, good mix of citrus and piney flavors. Touches of candied sugar and toffee. Balanced and finishes clean. Nice.

On draft at the Flying Saucer in Raleigh. Very clear orange pour with a string of head around the edge. Floral hoppy aroma comes through nicely. Lots of grapefruit and other citrus notes coming through in the aroma and flavor. Lightly grassy and spicy as well. Hop dominant, but lightly balanced by caramel malt. Quite tasty and one that I will order often!

On tap at the brewery. A deep amber color with a small eggshell creamy head. The nose has a lot of citrus and floral character. Some peach grassy notes as well. The flavor is more earthy than fruity. Some nice dank citrus does come through. A really solid thick body. Kind of reminds me of Bells Two Hearted, but not quite as good.

Draught at Mellow Mushroom. Light amber pour with great head and lacing. Light citrusy hoppy aroma and very strong hoppy flavor with a long lasting aftertaste. Thick mouthfeel, but very clean.

Sample @ Foothills. Dark orange pour, with a bit of a watery quality to it. A bit of the Simcoe hop came through, which saved it for me. Overall I was disappointed.

Tap at Flying Saucer in Charlotte. small white creamy head into clear amber body with a light lacing remaining. aromas of moderate grapefruit, light malts and a touch of some skunk (not bad though). flavor is sweet into light bitter. long finish duration. slightly above average carbanation. dry, sticky textured mouthfeel. Good IPA.

From notes 1/5/06: Pours a spectacular copper red with a tight off-white head. Crystal clear. Brilliant. Illuminated. Aromas are rather subtle and quiet for me. I try and try to inhale its hoppy nectar, but it eludes me. Quick rabbit whiffs, or deep long inhalations...I just can’t detect much. Mild citrus juiciness with grapefruit flesh and rind. Juicy sweet grapefruit flesh flavors jump out at you. Bitter grapefruit rind fights against the sweetness. Sticky pine resins cling to the palate. Tree sap tackiness clings to the lips with each sip. Tongue-tightening bitterness. Caramel malts lurk in the shadows. Finishes both splendidly bitter and citrusy. Solid mouthfeel. Emminently drinkable for the hophead. A good one.

Straight from my kegerator. Bitter hops aroma with some spicy undertones. Looks perfect...auburn, slight haze, thick white head that stay for the whole pint, but isn’t soapy. The flavor is pine, citrus hops, and a hint of grapefruit with a bit of pepper. Tastes just like what I’d want out of an IPA. Goes down smooth, with only a bit of residual bitterness burn. Sessionable to a point, and so far the best beer I’ve had in my kegerator.
