Draft at the brewpub. Orangish copper color with a small off-white head that lasts. Nice aroma of caramel malt and fresh citrusy/resiny hops. Flavor is caramel malt, earth, and citrusy/resiny hops, some orange and a little pine. Not over the top, but good. Body medium.

They were Randalling (to borrow a Dogfish term) this puppy at the World Beer Fest in Raleigh, and the hops were fresh as can be. Poured right through fresh hops, my 2-oz pour had about 5 little hop leaves in it. Nice hop bitterness and good skunkiness. Citrus and intense up front, but lovely back palate. A great way to enjoy this brew. Nice one!

Draught at the brewpub 3/24/06: Mostly clear medium amber body with a small white head. The nose has obvious citrus hops, bitter orange/lemon rind, and grapefruit. The taste is bitter showing some dry hop pellets (not saying they used hop pellets just that it smells similar to sticking your head in a fresh bag of them), grass, sweet malt, then back to some juicy grapefruit, grapefruit rind, bitter orange, and a bit of yeast and fruit. Medium bodied, medium carbonated, finishes bitter and with some grapefruit/citrus hops.

Draught from keg at the World Beer Fest in downtown Raleigh in April. Pours copper, very slight haze, small white head, lacing. Very floral nose, pine, grapefruit. Flavor is hoppy, with some caramel. Would like a little more malt to back up the over the top hop presence, but good overall.

Thanks to decaturstevo for sliding me behind the tents at the 2008 Knoxville Brewers’ Jam to get a sample of what the brewers were drinking. Orange in the glass with a tall creamy off-white head that mostly lasted and left good lace. Nice hoppy floral aroma. The flavor finds pine and citrus with a light malt backing. Medium body, crisp yet smooth. Very nice IPA!

On tap. Pours a dark reddish amber color with a small head. Flavor was a bit hoppy, but not what I was expecting. Aroma was not that prominate. Not bad.

Draft at FB. Glowing orange pour, translucent body. A thin white head appears creamy and has modest retention and lacing. the aroma is very clean, full of pine, lightly toasted malt in moderation. Very green and fresh. Alcohol is undetectable. The flavor has light hints of caramel that are quickly subdued by medium bitterness, light acidity, light sweetness and soft orange notes. The mouthfeel is highly carbonated, crisp, light bodied and very quenching. Finishes dry, crisp and lively, brief but satisfying.
