Jan 27, 2007 (ABV correction: 6.3%) Almost no head on this one... neither on my sampler nor pint. Pours an orange-caramel color, and does leave trace lacing. The nose is of weak citrus and malts. This is well-bittered, without substantial malts. Notes of grapefruit in the pull, especially after coming back to this one after a few of the other brewery offerings. This misses out on a pine finish, but does offer a lingering dry bitterness.

May 4, 2009 On tap at Raleigh WBF. Pours a clear copper with a thin beige cap that leaves sticky lacing. Aroma of resiny and piney hops, caramel. Taste is grapefruit with piney hops and caramel with some citrus light fruits showing through. Piney finish. Very enjoyable. Yum.

Oct 4, 2009 sample from the pitcher at GABF on 9/26/09... clear golden pour... with grassy hops on the nose... nice bitterness throughout... crisp, clean and a really nice IPA.

Aug 1, 2009 On tap pours golden color with off white head. Aroma is sweet caramel and citrus hops. Opulent mouthfeel. Flavor is pretty hoppy. Citrus flavor dominates while there is a solid caramel flavor backbone. Enjoyable.

Oct 5, 2008 On draft at the WBF, Durham NC, poured a deep and hazy orange hue, nice size off white foamy head. Aroma strong of citrus flowers, pines, and hops. Flavour of a bold IPA, much the same as the aroma, extremely quaffable, sticky mouth feel. What an awesome gem of a beer from NC.

Dec 1, 2007 Sampled at Summertime Brews Festival. Pour: golden orange. Head: thin fizzy. Aroma: very hoppy floral. Flavor: lively, hoppy, floral, some citrus. Palate: smooth, bitter, hoppy.

Oct 13, 2008 A solid IPA. Lots of hops, not a lot in the way of balance, but I’m ok with that. If you like hops and are in NC this has got to be about as good as you can get.
It might be a touch one-dimensional for some, but I’d recommend it.
