Of course no one is reading my ratings with any regularity, but as I’ve said time and time again they all look and taste almost the exact same with minimal differences from good to bad (at least brewpubs in America).
This one was slightly above average across the board in my opinion. lithy (1700), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 13, 2008 Sampled at the 12th Annual Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Cloudy whitish yellow with almost no lasting head. Citrus bubblegum and slight coriander. Smooth but light wheat body and more citrus and banana/clove yeasty funk. Light spicy dry finish. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2009 On tap at the brewpub as their seasonal. Pours a hazy very light golden yellow with a nice soapy pure white lasting head. Aroma is lemon zest, and good bready pils and wheat malts, with a good estery banana aroma but balanced with a spicy phenol kick- all balanced nicely. Flavor is clean, a bit yeasty, some doughty wheat, and good phenol/ester profile- overall everything kept in check but not "too" clean. Nice. freekyp (900), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 13, 2007 A well done hefe, with the expected banana clove aroma, rich foamy head and cloudy maize body. Well crafted, but run-of-the-mill. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 10, 2007 DRAUGHT AT THE BREWPUB. DRAUGHT because I am way too good to use the word DRAFT because I want to pretend like I am from England. The coloUr is yellow and their is a smell white head on it. The smell is fruity and full of lemons and orange and some other citrus fruits, but its pretty much dominated by those flavors. The flavour is sweet and fruity, full of carbonation, very refreshing. Thank god they did not put an orange slice with this, as I would have gone apeshit. Good beer, this is one of the best breweries in NC. Thanks for keeping the beer fresh and on DRAUGHT. 19641948 (491), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 16, 2006 From notes 5/11/06:
Pours a frosted orangey-yellow with a tight head of white that struggled to form and struggles to stay afloat. Easygoing carbonation. Thin spotty lacing involved. Aromas of an appropriate banana-clove combination with the added touch of a medicinal phenolic note. Mild, yet enough fragrance engages your receptors to notice that this is not a boring scent. Huge banana feel in the flavor. Definite clove and maybe some white pepper spicing? Coriander? Smooth and gliding. Nothing tickles the tongue here. Modest mouthfeel. Smooth finish. Aftertaste of banana Jolly Ranchers candies dusted with spice. Drinkable and enjoyable. Thirst quenching.
