EBF Session 1. Copper in color. Aroma of caramel, light chocolate, with a moderate amount of citrus and light pine. Taste has some light roast, and bright citrus hops. Medium bodied, nice piney hop bittering finish. Well done.

On draft. Somewhat transparent, dark brown, ruby tinted body with a thick layer of pillowy beige head. Aromas of chocolate, biscuit, and caramel malt. Cakey. Suggestions of citrusy hops, but the malt sweetness dominates the nose. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel with a somewhat sticky texture. Flavors of chocolate and caramel leap out right away, tasty, but a bit too sweet. Mid-palate, a bold piney hop flavor begins to build, getting more and more intense into the beer’s finish. The beer has good clean malt and hop flavors, but the two don’t really seem to mix all that well. The boldness of the hop bitterness seems to clash a bit with the sweetness of the malt flavors, even though what’s there is clean and tasty. Sessioning this beer was quite difficult.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours garnet red with some dirty white head. Bit of a chocolate nose with some citrus. The flavor is the reveres of that. Medium body. This might have been my favorite of the group.

Pours dark brown with a pretty foamy head. Sweet and slightly piney aroma. Flavors of toffee, some roastiness, and a nice hop bite to finish. I really enjoyed this one. Since this one is not on the menu at Foothills, I am sure glad I asked my waiter for suggestions.

This was great... medium/dark brown with lively white head. very fresh hops and less roasty and dark than something like DFH Indian Brown. Sweet, malty, a little roast and nice hops. Easy to drink, for sure. I feel like my rating belies how much I actually enjoyed this beer.

Had at the brewpub on SC release. Festiv Ale. 2 years old. Subdued hops obviously, still spicy and piney just not as fresh. Darker malts mixed well. Overall a very nice brew. Like to try it fresh. Fresh, as IBA. very nice fresh. Very citrusy hoppy aroma and flavor. Grapefruit peel, sweet malty flavor. Nice darker IPA.

Growler courtesy of Degarth. Thanks for bringing this back from your trip. Pours dirt clear brown with fluffy light brown head. In the aroma I get mild pine hops, roasty malts, a bit of malt astringency and a hint of toffee. The taste is nice and malty mixed with pine hop bitterness but not in an Arrogant Bastard Ale type way. Approaching the finish the hops fade some giving way to rich roasty malts. Yum. The after taste carries even more roastiness and growing pine hop bitterness.

Growler courtesy of Degarth. Awesome, thanks Joe!

Ruby red pour with brown highlights...creamy tan head...two fingers thick...incredible retention and some very nice cobweb lacing...aroma is fully hopped, bitter citrus hops taking most of the attention...light malt backbone...some malt sweetness found in brown ales...don’t get much other nuttiness or brown ale characteristics...flavor profile is again mostly citrus hops...malt backing more noticeable here...medium bodied, average carbonation...easy to drink...finish is drying, citrus hops, pine and sweet malts, with a touch of caramel.
