GABF 2006. Bronze body. Small off-white head. Nose is malty and spicy with a nice hop bite to it. Taste is much the same with caramel, sweet maltiness and spicy hops. Rather tasty! Body is medium with mild carbonation. More malts and spicy hops round this out. I need to get to Foothills Brewing!

Growler from Green’s in Columbia. Caramel malt and metallic hops aroma. Dark amber with nice big head. Light caramel malt and hops but with a fairly strong metallic flavor as well. Mild carbonation - decent drinkable festbier.

Clear copper, nice off-white head. Aroma is spicy with some sweet notes - vaguely fruity. Flavor is sweet at first, the a surprisingly crisp ever-so-slightly bitter finish. Nicely quaffable. Sampled at Asheville Brewgrass 2007.

Appearance: Pours a clear, brownish-amber body with a thin, short-lived white head. Smell: Earthy malt aroma with subtle spicing and a hint of apple. Taste: More of the earthy maltiness with a touch of caramel sweetness. A touch of spice. That hint of apple rears up from time to time. with a bit of hop bitterness appearing near the drying finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: A pretty good Carolinan Oktoberfest.
