Brewgrass 2009 Dark brown small tan head. Rich aroma with lots of chocolate, some coffee and roast malts. Slightly bitter from the roast malts, but a lot of flavor here that follows the aroma under the roast malt bitterness.

Dark brown, almost but quite opaque. Brown, or maybe dark tan head. Coffee-ish aroma. Flavor has plenty of coffee, too, plus an odd but not bad medicinaly note. Nice notes of red wine, as well. Nice mellow hop bite at the finish. Sampled at Brewgrass 2009.

Draft at the brewery. Nice darkest brown appearance with a small tan head that settles to a ring with good lacing. Aroma is roast, coffee, and bitter chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt, chocolate, and some smoke. Medium body with a nice dry finish. Good stuff.

Draft at the brewery. Opaque brown-black with a lasting creamy ring. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, light coffee and char. Flavor is a great tasting blend of the same with some light mesquite. Medium body is lightly chewy but not syrupy and finishes roasty-dry.

Tap at ACBF. Lovely aroma with big coffee, semisweet chocolate, piney and earthy hops. Flavor had some plastic but still had solid pine and chocolate notes. Chalky palate, a bit thin. Great aroma still gives me a good memory of this one despite a bit of a letdown in the mouth.

On draft at ACBF09. Pours brown with a small head. Aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Flavor of bitter chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Robust and delicious. A surprisingly top-notch porter. 8/4/8/4/15 (3.9/5)

Tap at the brewpub. Pours a nice deep brown almost black with a beige head. Aroma is toffee, and chocolate malts, light fruitiness, and nutty- charred hints. Bittersweet chocolate flavor- more toffee, ok sweetness, a few hints of green hops, caramel, and nutty earthy finish.

On tap at the Saucer and served in a English Pint glass. Poured a nice dark brown color with a 2 finger head. There was minimal lacing. Roasted malts and chocolate dominate the aroma. The taste has bitter chocolate, coffee and toffee. It is a little then but not so much that it is distracting. A nice sessionable porter.
