Poured a clear amber color with a one finger white head. Aroma of pine/resin and some citrus. Flavor was well balanced, with a piney finish. Skeegle (500), Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Great pale ale. Nice hoppyness that is tartly crisp. The hops really draw out the strong flavor of citrus in this one. Nice and light lending to the crispness. KUEric (635), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 13, 2008 A solid beer, but the IPA was definitely better. I"m an APA fan and so I hold them to a higher standard than I do most of my other ratings. Its not what I’m supposed to do, but they’re my ratings.
Flavor didn’t have a ton of flavor, it claims aggresively hopped, and I"m sure it was, it just didnt balance right. Don’t know really where my issue stems from: not enough matls, not the right combination of hops, or what. But it wasn’t a world beater. lithy (1850), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 13, 2008 Sampled at the 12th Annual Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Clear amber pour with a thin white head that settles to a ring. Strong hop notes in the aroma, more piney hops on the tongue over a nice pale malt base with solid body and caramel. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2008 Draft at Tyler’s Tap House in Durham NC, between sessions. Had a dark, coppery color with little to no foamy head. Aroma of hops, malts and perhaps some peppery flowers. Flavour much of the same, but by the time I was finished, I remarked to DrBayern and Doboy, that the beer seem more like an English pale ale (too bad), however it was still enjoyable and fresh tasting. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 26, 2008 Growler. Pour is a dark amber hue. Nice caramel and citrus hop aromas, but not overbearing. Slight breadiness with notable toffee and spicy, citrusy hop flavors. Very nice, especially considering the low alcohol. Medium bodied and very balanced with surprisingly complexity for a session beer. maugus4ever (123), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA
