I stormed through this one while playing a couple thrilling games of arcade bowling. Mild hops and malt and completely unoffensive. Aurelius (2655), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Slight sulphur and some odd biotica-phenol flavors that sometimes crop up in Bohemian pilseners. Average. Sponged off of BW at the Mellow Mushroom, Asheville. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 25, 2006 Copper, nice head. Faintly bitter, woodsy, vaguely spicy aroma. Very resiny hoppy up front, much moreso than the aroma indicates. Faint but clean malty background. Crisp hoppy finish. Enjoyable and easy to drink. Sampled at the Asheville Brewgrass 2006 tronraner (1938), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 16, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Pours on the red side of copper with a small, oily white head. There is a faint, but distinct, "c" hop aroma. The flavor is a blast of grapefruit at first, but as it moves across the mouth it fades into a malty honeylike sweetness. The finish is mellow and slightly warm. As far as I’m concerned, this is a well-crafted and tasty APA. 19641948 (491), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 16, 2006 From notes 3/21/05:
Pours a bright clean clear amber/copper. Timid off-white head. Loose sloppy lace. Mild aromas of herbal hoppiness and bready malt. Flavors are amiable with solid malt beginnings; bread dough and grains. An ample bitterness grabs hold of either side of your tongue and wrenches hold. Glimpses of citrus overtakenby earthen herbal notes. Balanced well with its sweet maltiness and hoppy bitterness. Firm mouthfeel and an engaging drinkablity. Bailz316 (221), Mendham, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Sep 1, 2006 Pours an amber with minimal head. Refreshing, smooth, Breaded malts, hoppy. Solid but not spectacular. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 3, 2006 Pours an amber color with a fairly thick white head. Good lacing. Noticeable citrus aroma in the hops but not too strong. Decently hopped beer with Cascade making a strong impression at the finish. A nice light beer with plenty of favor. Probably good for watching a sporting event and eating wings. kujo9 (1078), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 13, 2006 On tap @ FH 6/30/06: Lighter medium copper brown w/ a thin off white head w/ lacing. Again, I’ll blame the glassware. Lighlty grapefruity, herbal, and piney hops, balanced by a medium toasty malt and light caramel aroma. Medium fruitiness from fermentation. Very grapefruity citrusy hop flavor up front. Well balanced by caramel and toasty malt flavors, but a light bitterness creeps into the finish and herbal aftertaste. Lingering aftertaste is citrusy hops. The fruitiness in the flavor is a combination of citrusy hops and fermention esters. Highly carbonated, a bit much for a pale ale until it warms, then is smooths out a bit. Medium body. Nice flavorful pale ale, but carbonation takes away just a bit as with the other beers.
