| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 8, 2007 Draft at FB. Clear amber/copper pour with evident bouncy carbonation. A thin beige head forms and recedes, quickly, mostly. Aroma os sweet caramel malts and flowers spring from the glass, but not much else happens with nosing. The flavor is quite good, atypical of other American representations of the style. Moderate sweetness is extinguished by earthy bitterness and citric acidity. The finish is crisply hoppy, caramel lingers. Mouthfeel is softly carbonated and medium bodied. Quite tasty. This is one I’d really like to revisit. PorterPounder (3138), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Medium orange appearance, soft white head, Good subtle bitterness with some chocolate undetones. Citusy back end. Clean, even mouthfeel. alexanderj (2264), Chino Hills, California, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 18, 2007 Run of the mill is good for homebrewers and red hook, but an average esb is not something you would expect at a brew-pub. It’s tasty, but there’s nothing in this beer to make me seek it out. TURDFERGUSON (1603), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2007 pint at the brewery in downtown Winston-Salem. deep amber with hardly any head. typical of many of the esb’s I’ve had. Bitter and crisp mouthfeel with with a little citusy hops mixed well with some light malts. Not bad, but I was ready to move on to something with a little more flavor and umph. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 8, 2007 pint @ Cleveland Draft House. Ok aroma, sweet malty. Wet leaves, fruity (cherry, grape) little sourdough. Clean brownish orange color, good head that faded quickly, good lacing. Bitter flavor like aroma with a but stronger. Bit of a hop bite, tad grapefruity. Thinner body, lite smooth mouthfeel, bitter dry finish. Nice bitter. Easy to drink, good flavor for a lower abv brew.
