Pours very effervescent orange with a tight white head. The aroma is German hops and some yeast. The flavor is a lot of hay with a slightly sweet finish. Clearly meant for mass appeal. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 15, 2006 Gold. Decent white head. Very mild wheat aro - OK, look, I drank this becasue it was the only Foothills beer they had the festival that I hadn’t had. Its a light micro brewed wheat designed to appeal to people who don’t drink microbrewed beer. You can safely skip this and go directly to the other Foothills offerings, which are much better. You can thank me later. Sampled at Knoxville Brewer’s Jam, 2006. OldGrowth (1426), North Carolina, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 3, 2006 Pint @ MacGregor Draft House. Ok nose, grassy, grainy. Little seltzer and fruit. Clean orangy gold color, small head that faded quickly, little to no lace. Bitter flavor Like aroma, but stronger. Little metallic. A little of a clove/corriander taste. medium body, lite creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish, I wouldn’t of guessed a wheat, but thought it was served too cold to start. Woman behind the bar asked me if it was alright because I was drinking it so slow. No I said, jut letting it warm a bit. 19641948 (491), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 16, 2006 From notes 3/21/05:
Pours a deep golden color. Frothy white head. Random lacing with weblike patterns developing. Grassy aromas with a fuller "spent grain" or husky scent. Aromas seem to "warn" the macro drinker that this is how a lighter color beer should be. Flavors of a substantial bready malt note. Splashes of hops zing across the palate and finish off the sweetness. Well-carbonated, yet glides smoothly down the gullet. Intimates that this beer is more heady that it seems. A durable mouthfeel. Satisfyingly drinkable. "Emminently quaffable" per my server, and I agree. A good session for the micro-shy. Finishes clean. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 2, 2006 Extremely light stuff. Golden color, small white head. I was surprised to smell some wheat in there as I didn’t know this was an American wheat. Not much going on in the flavor but it’s not offensive at all. I guess brewpubs have to make beers like this for the masses but I’d rather drink a nice hoppy IPA anyday. kujo9 (1077), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 13, 2006 On tap @ FH 6/30/06: Deep gold w/ a clear body and thin white ring of a head, again probably due to glass ware. Floral and herbal hops w/ abit of grainy wheat malt aroma. Highly fruity that give extra complexity for a lighter style of beer. Hints fo diacetyl and a hint of bready malt and doughy yeast. Very crisp, surprising for the amount of fruitiness in the nose and palate. Herbal hop flavor is also a bit earthy in the flavor. Malt flavor is very light, grainy, & bready w/ a semi sweet finish and lightly herbal hop aftertaste. Overall the flavor is a bit thin, but it’s a lighter style of beer. Highly carbonated, very prickly carbonated, lighter medium body, but smooth after the prickly carbonation goes away. The carbonation takes away from this one just slightly, but pretty flavorful for a lighter style of beer even though a bit thin overall. The flavors are very subtle. Very refreshing, even more so than the Torch Pils. BuckNaked (1209), Tempe, Arizona, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 26, 2006 Draught at the brewpub 3/24/06: Clear pale yllow with a small white head. Mild bread, malt, and maybe a touch of hops when you stick your nose in the beer and inhale. Yep, there’s a touch of grassy hops in the taste along with light citrus, bread, and surprisingly not any wheat flavors. I did not know this one was a wheat, even an American Wheat at that, maybe it’s kind of in between that and a Blonde Ale. Light bodied, medium-lively carbonation, finishes without much aftertaste. The lightest beer you drink if you want to drink some quantity here. 00cobraR (1098), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 19, 2006 Oooppppss. What a disappointment. Where’s the flavor? Where’s the alcohol? Aroma was nice though. This brew has a wheat scent to it.
