Commercial Description:
Foothills' first high gravity beer may have you Seeing Double. The hops are balanced with just enough body to craft a highly drinkable brew. Expect a full body and a hint of citrus from the seven varieties of hops added to the brew. IBU: 130.

Growler shared by sliffy. Orange-red pour with a light tan head. Aroma of citrus and caramel malt. Flavors of sweet candied fruit, citrus, light pine and some hot booze. Medium/thick body bittersweet with a bittersweet/hot booze finish.

Draft at Barley’s in Asheville. Nice hop bite and sweetness on first taste. Reminds me of Maharaja. Good balance of hops and malt. Solid IIPA.

Draft at 42nd St. Oyster Bar in Raleigh - Poured a coppery amber in color with a fairly foamy off-white head. Some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma was hoppy, period. Flavor was fruity with lots of citrus hops. Malt balance was much more evident than in the aroma. Slightly sweet on the finish, just before the hop bitterness kicks in at the end. Really good!

Deep copper pour, vizable carbonation full off white head, thick lacing. Aroma is lightly simcoe, a mix of light fruits and another hoppy character I can’t quite place, hints of alcohol. Well coated lightly oily lightly creamy. Sweet flavor, fresh hop flowers, definate simcoe a ton of caramels alcohol in the finish. Good stuff.

Aroma was relatively faint for a double ipa, but was fruity, with citrus, and apricot. copper colored beer with a white head. Flavor is pretty hoppy, but very drinkable and the alcohol is well hidden, carmel malts play well in balaning the hops and adding complexity. range of hop flavors, but not killer on citurs like many ipas. more spice, herbal, pine characteristics. palate is medium. good.

Pours fizzy and amber. Aroma is of pines and caramel malt. Taste is dominated by the pine and resinous hops with a touch of heat. The malt makes its presence known, but not enough to detract from the heat. Unfortunately the hops accentuate said alcohol and make this a very average double IPA for me.

Pours a deep, dark cherry wood color. Aroma of citrus notes with a hint of alcohol. Initial sweetness, some caramel hidden in there. Sticky beer that clings to the roof of your mouth. A smooth maltiness takes over and slowly gives way to a bitterness at the back of your throat. This a a very special beer! Big thanks to alexanderj and kleyland for deciding to make the short drive to Winston-Salem from the WBF.
