Commercial Description:
Foothills' first high gravity beer may have you Seeing Double. The hops are balanced with just enough body to craft a highly drinkable brew. Expect a full body and a hint of citrus from the seven varieties of hops added to the brew. IBU: 130.

Pretty much the total package on this one. On tap at Village Tavern in Raleigh. Delicious IPA, highly recommended.

Draft at 42nd St. Oyster Bar in Raleigh - Poured a coppery amber in color with a fairly foamy off-white head. Some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma was hoppy, period. Flavor was fruity with lots of citrus hops. Malt balance was much more evident than in the aroma. Slightly sweet on the finish, just before the hop bitterness kicks in at the end. Really good!

A huge IPA with a solid malty backbone, redolent with piny resin-ridden hops. Highly drinkable for a 9.5 percenter with a long mouth coating earthy hop finish. Clear light brown with a rocky off-white head, this brew leaves ample lacing and is a treat for the eyes and tongue.

Yes sir! On tap, and my vote for Beer of the Day at the Microfestivus ’07. Ruby-mahogany pour, with a nice eggshell head... great retention and frothy lace. Candied malts and floral/pine nose. This is a big bold brew with plenty of thick, sweet malts upfront. This accompanies pine nuts and slight citrus and rind/zest hints. The finish is of floral bitters that grow into peppery pine, bolder and bolder even after the pull is finished. ABV is well-integrated into the tapestry of complexion. Thick, syrupy body and a chewy mouthfeel make this a truly awesome example of the style! Great job, Foothills!

From Growler, via Jimbowood. Shared with Bartzilla & Morgan. This growler held up really nice. Good carbonation, and the beer tasted really fresh. I think this is the first Growler I have ever received in a trade. Although there is nothing extraordinary about this beer, it’s a nice example of the style. Not overdone, almost sessionable. Alcohol is really well hidden.

Growler shared by sliffy. Orange-red pour with a light tan head. Aroma of citrus and caramel malt. Flavors of sweet candied fruit, citrus, light pine and some hot booze. Medium/thick body bittersweet with a bittersweet/hot booze finish.

on tap at tylers ...poured hazy bronze color with a soapy looking head....body is heavy enough to call this a double, but the hops are overwhelming everything else in the flavor...there ae supposedly 6 different hops in there, but the bitterness is so strong that they dont have individual characters...this is the only 2x ipa i have had that was as oily as a good regular ipa...dont get me wrong it is a good beer, but in the wrong styles
