Intense nose of orange zest and grapefruit, with lesser tones of pine and earth. Super bitter flavors up front and throughout, but you actually can detect some semblance of sweet malt if you try hard enough. Medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, dry, bitter hop finish. You better dig hops! tronraner (1933), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 7, 2006 Draught. Pours a cloudy reddish honey color with small white head. Swirling it in the glass leaves well-defined legs as if it were wine. The aroma is sticky with pine hops, some bread, and some cherry. The flavor is berries, raisin bread, and lots of spicy and citrusy hops. I also detect a bit of sweet orange peel and a little bit of caramel. The finish is cherries and pine, and leaves a soft bitterness in the aftertaste. I like this one a lot. swoopjones (1917), Buffalo, New York, USA

The aroma is very floral with citrus playing a supporting role. The flavor is pretty nice though the floral-perfume is a bit over done. Good wash of bitterness across the board. A fresh rush across the palate is a welcome end to a pretty good IIPA. emacgee (1891), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

Aroma is amazing, sweet, fruit, apricot, citrus, so delicious. The flavor is similar, citrus, sweet, waxy, a tad bitter, mellow. Simply great. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2007 Courtesy dsnowden. Pours an amber/maroon with a small light tan head. Smells of grapefruit hops, with a big malt background. Maybe a little dark fruit in there too. The taste is very sweet and malty in the taste. Alot of caramel in there along with hops. The hops are most detectable in the finish and the aftertaste. Its not as nearly hoppy as you’d expect being a double IPA, the malt was just huge in this beer. Stil pretty good, not what I was expecting.
