murky, fresh apple cider amber hued copper with a foamy pale tan head that settled into a thin, bubbly, skim-like
lacing, good carbonation. Had a big hop nose, piney and citric with a little apple earthiness at the edges. A textured,
smooth medium bodied mouth feel, very good D/IPA drinkability. Apple fruity and smoothly citric bitter at first, then a
piney earthiness comes through, followed by a balancing crisp sweet maltiness, the hops and malts doing a good job of masking the alcoholic warmth and a sweet malty and earthy finish.
For a Double IPA, there is a good balance between the hops and malts, definitely more a east coast D/IPA than west coast, tasty and dangerously quaffable. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA

Clear coppery brown body under a medium, creamy, yellowish beige head, decent lace. Spruce and grapefruit skin up front in the aroma, dark toffee and a hint of fruitiness follow. Smooth and slightly viscous, medium to full body and light carbonation, resinous. Lots of malty sweetness that needs the abundance of peppery hop bitterness that builds quickly. Finishes dry with a lingering tangy grapefruit zest. A solid DIPA with lots of character. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA

Aroma of fresh citrus, a touch of tropical fruit and a moderate amount of pine. Taste has alot of grapefruit, tropical fruit, and pine over a medium to full bodied malt backbone. Finishes with a nice lingering bitterness. I really enjoyed this one.

Poured from growler a nice medium dark amber, forming decent of beige foamy head. Aroma strong of hops, malts, grass, resins. Flavour much of the same, well balanced beer. Pines hammer thru, malts come in the end to balance out this wonderful ale. Citrus and pine resins dominate as malt come in and say "hi". Tremendous DIPA, made right here in NC. Simply lovely. Lasts for a good while. The nose is a peach tea citrus antiseptic aroma. Really exceptionally well-balanced. Has a tea and citrus hop flavor. A lot of solid malt backbone; caramel, brown sugar, with some peach and mango. A rich body with a thick creamy mouthfeel. chandler0201 (358), Durham, North Carolina, USA

Amazing flavor for an IPA, not bitter or overpowering, very citrusy and drinkable, just as drinkable as any "lighter" beer. hopscotch (5549), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Lightly hazy orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. The floral, fruity nose delivers big grapefruit, wet leather and big malts. Good, malty-sweet flavor up front followed by a heavy dose of hops. Tangy, bitter and a little tart. Full-bodied and ultra-creamy with soft carbonation. Lengthy, pretty damn bitter finish. The alcohol and hops eventually dry everything out.
