Commercial Description:
Foothills' first high gravity beer may have you Seeing Double. The hops are balanced with just enough body to craft a highly drinkable brew. Expect a full body and a hint of citrus from the seven varieties of hops added to the brew. IBU: 130.

Draft @ Foothills: Really glad I got a chance to try this when I was here. Nice orange pour with some amber highlights and a creamy sticky white head. NIce aroma of citrus and pine, as you’d expect. Nicely carbonated with a relatively aggressive bitterness. Quick finish as compared to other high gravity brews, however that was the only real significant ding in this beer.

ruby amber color with a decent head. nice citrus hop aroma, also a bit piney and flowery. great flavor. hopes are balanced well, has a touch of sweetness and finishes with a good bit of hop zing but doesnt overstep its boundries. alcohol is greatly well hidden. one of the best parts about living in carolina is the availability of this beer. yum.

On Tap at Watts Grocery. Orange pour with light orange head. Very nice appearance. Orange-y citrus and slight bitterness. Hops are relatively mild for a double IPA. Very solid overall, if a little different than expected. Looking forward to trying again.

Draft at the brewpub. Amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is citrus/pine hops and caramel malt. Flavor is fairly sweet caramel malt, earth, fruity notes, and loads of citrusy/piney/resiny hops. Really well-balanced. Palate medium-full and chewy. Drinkability really high for the ABV and IBUs. Best beer I had at Foothills and pretty damn good overall.

On tap at Tyler’s Taproom in Durham NC this brew was brought to me with a decent head and a nice amber color - but a lot less lacing than the other beers I tried while there. Great aroma of lots of hops, lemon, apricot and flowers. The taste was solid - nice florally hoppy flavor with lemon, grapefruit and grassy flavors coming through. High alcohol but couldn’t tell as it was well hidden behind the great IPA tastes... Very solid offering from Foothills.

On tap @ brewpub 5/30/06. Good aroma, sweet. Citrusy piney, flowery. Pineapple, orange, caramel. Hazy brownish orange color, small head with good lacing. Bitter flavor, that palate burning grapefruit kind of thing. Little mediciny. ABV shows itself. Medium to thick bodied, viscious oily creamy mouthfeel, bittersweet finish. Tasty, though one dimensional, IIPA. A great beer for the hopheads.
