Commercial Description:
Foothills' first high gravity beer may have you Seeing Double. The hops are balanced with just enough body to craft a highly drinkable brew. Expect a full body and a hint of citrus from the seven varieties of hops added to the brew. IBU: 130.

Pours a nice copper color with a white head. Aroma is caramel and nice grapefruit hops. Flavor is malty, caramel, and nice bitter citrus grapefruit finish.

Thanks to John for bringing in a growler! Great hop aroma, gassy, spicy. Pours golden amber. Sweet upfront, then great hop flavor kicks in. Great bitterness, almost oily on palate.

On tap at brewery. The citrus-pine aromas here are huge! Others drinking w/ me talked about the smell too, from across the table. Great looking, deep amber. Clear, I recall. The bitterness was moderate and the beer, surprisingly drinkable. I throughly enjoyed this one, and wish I had bought a growler.

Blind tasting at Papsoes place, another great session, thanks Henrik! Beer #31: Pours slight cloudy amber/orange with a fully diminished white head. Peach, pinewood and mild grapefruit aroma. Flavour is sweet caramel malt with a touch of hops with a light liqourice note. Ends dry and fruity hoppy.

Growler shared by sliffy. Orange-red pour with a light tan head. Aroma of citrus and caramel malt. Flavors of sweet candied fruit, citrus, light pine and some hot booze. Medium/thick body bittersweet with a bittersweet/hot booze finish.

Foothills Seeing Double IPA # 31 Bottle. [Papsoe’s great blind tasting, thanks Henrik!] Average bubbly off-white head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacework. Clear flat looking body with an amber color. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, citrus, underlying malty sweetness. Over the palate came heavy hoppy feel with some fruity and apricot. Full bodied with an average carbonation and very dry, mild alcoholic texture. Moderated bitter and light sweet flavor. Dry and bitter hoppy finish. 7-3-8-4-16 = 3.8 19-04-2008

Growler courtesy of Degarth. Awesome, thanks Joe!

Pour is cloudy as hell, almost looks like a Hefe...body is amber/rusty in color, very nice looking...incredible lacing...head is about 2 fingers thick, tightly packed full of bubbles...average retention...damn, this lacing is nice...nose of caramel, floral hops, some soapiness...aroma is muted, which is disappointing...maybe I was just expecting a more in your face citrus hop bomb, this one is more floral and subtle...doesn’t smell like many Double IPA’s out there right now...flavor is very similar, a lot of caramel/toffee malts...better sense of the hops here, big floral/perfume kick...no pine or bitterness expected from other types of hops...full bodied, very round and filling...oily, slick mouthfeel...finish is very long, floral hops, then a seemingly endless supply of caramel/toffee malts.
