Draught at GABF 2008. Clear golden - white head. Honey, high hoppy, knækbrød, swedish flatbread, light sticky body, citrus, resin, light grass, high hoppy.... lovely.

On tap at The Bier Garden, Asheville. Nice sugary-sweet and hoppy aroma to this one, with apricots and resin, and also a bit of bitter metallic funk. Deep amber-orange with some haze, topped with an off-white lacing creamy head. Heavy body with mdium smooth carbonation, quite a mouthful, with a light alcohol warming. Starts with an initial burst of brown sugar and big grapefruity hops. After this, the malty sweetness takes over and would be cloying but for the big bitter hop finish that segways into a medium bittersweet after. A bit of alcohol, too. Decent DIPA, but a bit hevy handed in the finish.

Growler at RBSG 2006. Rusty amber. Nose is hoppy, fruity and sweet. Laden with caramel. Taste is chewy, sweet malts, caramel, hops, citrus notes and a touch of pine. Body is thick and chewy but creamy. Finishes with more citrus and caramel. Nice!

Draft at WBF Raleigh on 5/2/09. Just an update as I didn’t realize I had rated this already! My friend and I both got samples of this and we both picked up some "oddities" at the fest. We both got mint/herbal notes, tropical fruit and even a hint of coconut on top of our hops, caramel, and pine. We thought it odd but thought it tasty as well and different which is definitely what I like.

RBSG 2006 - DC Grand Tasting Lineup Bronze color, no head or lacing. Nose of bright grapefruit and sweet nutty grapes. The flavor is nice and balanced. Catty bitterness and sweet maltose. The finish is nice and traditional with light lingering malt but a nice hop essence.

Sampled at RBSG 2006- Grand Tasting. Interesting beer in that it pours Clemson orange in color. Aroma is quite pleasant with a strong hop oil content. Taste is a blend of sweet and tartness. Unfortunately, the sweetness continues to dominate and leaves the beer a bit out of whack. Really quite good otherwise.

Growler at RBSG ’06. Clear, dark amber with a small off white head. Piney hop aroma that is balanced with sweet malty notes. Flavor of pine and citrus hops with a bit of caramel malt. A bit of chalkiness on the finish took a little away from the beer but overall quite tasty.

Bottle. Blind tasting. A amber beer with a off-white head. The aroma and taste is of malt and hops, peach, mellon notes, dry. Medium to full body with a bitter dry, hoppy finish.

(Handbottle 65 cl) Courtesy of BrianK. Clear, amber golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving some lacework. Fat, sweetish aroma of malt and peachy hops. Quite full-bodied, very sweet caramel and a fairly bitter finish. A bit too much on the sweet side. 190408
