Aroma is chocolate, coffee, molasses. Flavor is chocolate, roast, coffee, molasses. Palate os full bodied, medium carbonation finished super bitter. IMO this is way over-hyped, good stuff, but far from the better stouts out there. Rogueone (506), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA

The aroma of this one was actually better than the beer itself. I got rich coffee and dark chocolate notes from it and was pretty excited for the follow through in taste. I didn’t pick up as much of the coffee, and only a slight bit of toffee but I did get a blast of bitter cocoa. Great beer, but I even like Founders Breakfast better. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 20, 2008 Updated: May 8, 2008Bottle with MaltOMeal. Thanks! Pours a rich, sans lumination black with a light beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate chunks, dark raspberry, and isopryl alcohol. Flavor is bittered coffee chocolate, with a brusque white wine finish. Rich and full mouthfeel. This beer is all hype; doesn’t stack up to the finer stouts. A good beer, for sure, but not as good as the percentile dictates. MaltOMeal (653), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

This poured dark as night with a thick brown head that looked a like a chocolate milk shake. Nose is of chocolate and coffee with some ash towards the end. Taste was cocoa powder, coffee and again some ash at the end. Mouthfeel was thick like a chocolate shake and a little dry at the finish. Well made stout. Ungstrup (15337), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 16, 2008 A former top-50 beer entered to celebrate my rating number 10200. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of chocolate, tar, and hops. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of roasted malt as well as notes of alcohol and oranges, leading to a dry bitter chocolate finish. Thanks Jeppe for sharing. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Rating #1600 well hell yeah! A black appearance with a moderate tan head. The aroma consists of coffee, chocolate, licorice, dark fruit, and charcoal. This is a very rich beer with a lot of chocolate showing through. Some coffee and licorice linger in the background. This reminds of Expedition in some ways. The alcohol is hidden quite well. The aftertaste is a mixture of bitter and sweet. This beer lives up to the hype. Great stuff! mcbackus (751), Merritt Island, Florida, USA

Smell, chocolate, taste, chocolate. Amazing mouth feel. roastiness, coffee, fruits and stuff hid behind the chocolate, but still let you know they were there. Best RIS I’ve had.
