| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Thanks SoLan! Poured a deep brown, almost black color. The aroma is chocolaty and roasted, with some molasses and treacle notes peeking through on the back. The flavor is more of the same, though a bit more subdued than I anticipated. Very good beer. dchmela (1473), Orlando, Florida, USA

Pours thick black with a small dark tan head. Chocolate, vanilla, coffee, roasted grain aroma. Taste is an explosion of chocolate, vanilla, roasted grain, & coffee. Just coats the glass with thick residue. Has a slight sharpness, also. Finishes a little thick, like a chewy aperitif. gunhaver (1044), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a brownish red, with creamy orange highlights. Rings of lacing are prominent, and a nice foamy head. Chocolate is rich in the aroma, with caramel and deep roasted malts. Rich flavors of roasted chocolate, thick brown sugar influence, with a chalky and bitter aftertaste. Warming, medium-body. Sweet flavors stick to mouth, and very enjoyable. ABV is unnoticeable. Quite nice. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Dark brown color. Smell of chocolate, hops, roasted malt, coffee beans, caramel, brown sugar and minor alcohol. Taste of rich chocolate, cake batter, coffee, roasted malt, syrup, caramel, hops and some minor dark fruit. Very smooth. Nice balance of the flavors. I think its a little over hyped but still a solid Imperial stout. adrian910ss (1436), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, expresso and cream. Taste of roasted malts, expresso, smooth chocolate with a spec of molasses. Not as good as I had hoped and definitely not worth the $15 price tag. BDR (2170), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
