THANKS Pepsican! As you would expect, chocolate everywhere. Smell, chocolate, taste, chocolate. Amazing mouth feel. roastiness, coffee, fruits and stuff hid behind the chocolate, but still let you know they were there. Best RIS I’ve had.

Bottle, Merritt Island Throwdown. Perfect black. Cocoa aromas. Totally smooth dark chocolate flavors. Robust roastiness with chocolate again in the finish. Alcohol present but well-integrated. Gorgeous! Thank you orlando crew.

Thanks SoLan! Poured a deep brown, almost black color. The aroma is chocolaty and roasted, with some molasses and treacle notes peeking through on the back. The flavor is more of the same, though a bit more subdued than I anticipated. Very good beer.

Merritt Island Throwdown ’08: Bottle, courtesy mcbackus. Wow, this is good! Pours thick black with a small dark tan head. Chocolate, vanilla, coffee, roasted grain aroma. Taste is an explosion of chocolate, vanilla, roasted grain, & coffee. Just coats the glass with thick residue. Has a slight sharpness, also. Finishes a little thick, like a chewy aperitif.

Merritt Island Throwdown ’08: Bottle, courtesy mcbackus. Pours a brownish red, with creamy orange highlights. Rings of lacing are prominent, and a nice foamy head. Chocolate is rich in the aroma, with caramel and deep roasted malts. Rich flavors of roasted chocolate, thick brown sugar influence, with a chalky and bitter aftertaste. Warming, medium-body. Sweet flavors stick to mouth, and very enjoyable. ABV is unnoticeable. Quite nice.

Bottle via decaturstevo. Thanks so much! Dark brown color. Smell of chocolate, hops, roasted malt, coffee beans, caramel, brown sugar and minor alcohol. Taste of rich chocolate, cake batter, coffee, roasted malt, syrup, caramel, hops and some minor dark fruit. Very smooth. Nice balance of the flavors. I think its a little over hyped but still a solid Imperial stout.

# 900. 22 oz bomber #316/500. Pours an opaque black with a thick light brownish head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, expresso and cream. Taste of roasted malts, expresso, smooth chocolate with a spec of molasses. Not as good as I had hoped and definitely not worth the $15 price tag.

Many thanks to Stine for sharing. Light chocolate nose with noticeable alcohol. Brown head and black body. Smooth caramel malt body with a little chocolate flavor.
