Fantastic aroma, color. Brown head hints of intense flavor, with just a hint of chocolate. Not too much!! High alcohol evident in slight whiskey notes. A top beer.

Draft at Tyler’s. Pitch black with a nice tan head and heavy lacing. Intense aroma of chocolate, rich black coffee, and sugar. Excellently balanced flavors...roasted nuts, dark chocolate, nice sweetness, and a little alcohol. Actually there’s surprisingly little alcohol on the flavor and the finish for a beer that’s this strong. It goes down as smooth as many well made stouts with half the strength. Lovely stuff...now if only I could get more of it somehow.

Opaque in color with a finger sized dark brown head that holds it’s shape well. Smells of black molassas and chocolate. The flavor is of rich dark chocolate, roasted malts, molassas and licorice. Thick mouthfeel but silky smooth. This is only the second beer that stained the glass after it was empty. The other being Dark Lord. Way to easy to drink as the abv is not noticable. Had on-tap at the release.

#300 rating this beer. Bottle, graciously shared by danielcurtis81 on his wedding week. Pours deep black with thin dark tan head. Nose has alot of luscious red fruit on top of chocolate dessert and molasses. Taste is a smooth, pleasing elegant dessert concoction. Lots of sweet, toffee, chocolate, coffee malts and a perfect blend of dark red fruit. All flavors meld and compliment each other perfectly. What a real treat. I am simply aroused by this brew.

Very dark and complex. Milk chocolate shines through in the burnt aroma and heavily in the flavor. Potent, but very drinkable, this is a very sweet stout. Bitterness rounds out the edges in the finish leaving you wanting more. A bit of fruity tang adds a nice zest to the mix. Definitely heavy handed, and slightly oily, and I’m loving every minute of it. Drink this with a chocolatey dessert.

Growler from Sam. Thanks. It is really good that I live in the state where this beer is brewed, yet I had to trade for a growler of it. Oh well, it is well worth it. Pours out a dark black color with a thick creamy tan head on it. Smell is full of chocolate and plums and dark fruits, coffee, sweet sugars and a touch of alcohol. The smell really reminds me of the Thunder Canyon Warhead Stout. The taste is awesome. This stuff is thick, rich, bold, full of coffee and of course, chocolate. It is not bitter, not too green, just perfect. Very good stuff. In fact, I am about to go pour another glass, thus finishing my growler. Next year this will be purchased by me in multiple growlers. Props to Foothills for creating the best imperial stout brewed in NC. Fucking awesome job.

GABF. First beer of the event. Was actually running for Utopias, but this caught my eye. First and favorite actually. Dark pour with nice head. Lots of roasty coffee in the aromas. Flavor was more coffee, and crazy amounts of nice sweet chocolate. Very Very Good.

Growler from Turdferguson! - thanks a bunch Sam!! Shared at DLD with as many people as I could find! - Pours dark black with a big mocha head that stays well and clings to the sides of the glass. Aromas of rich milk chocolate, and roasted coffee. Flavor is mostly chocolate. Rich and decadent. There is some coffee there though and some slight hops at the back of each sip. Smooth palate makes this big beer so easy to drink. A really beautiful Imperial Stout!!!
