Draught at Tyr Na Nog in downtown raleigh. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is roasty, with licorice, chocolate and coffee. Similar flavor, nice bitterness on back end with a pleasant but not overpowering hop presence. Little bit of alcohol in aftertaste, but not much. Smooth, and heavy all at the same time.

Draft at Brixx. Dark brew, nearly pitch black, and very little head. Nice roasted coffee nose. Real pleasing, roasty flavor and a hint of sweetness. Not a wonderfully unique stout, but a solid session stout. Something somewhat "off" in the finish keeps this from being as clean as I’d like a stout to be. Good, though.

Draught. Pours black with tan head. Good toasty/roasted malt aroma. Bitter aftertaste with little sweetness. Body is on the medium side. A good example of the style but not great.

On draught at WBF in Durham, NC. Thanks Jamie! Pours dark as midnight witha nice sized tan head. Roasty nose with a little but of chocolate and coffee--very pleasent. Full flavored with many of the same characteristics as the nose--chocolate, coffee, etc. I was really impressed with the stout. Jamie brews amazing beer. If you’re ever driving through Winston Salem on I-40, you would do yourself a disservice not stopping at Foothills.
