mkobes (2045), paramus, New Jersey, USA Jun 11, 2005 On tap at Andy’s. Deep dark brown in color with a nice head. Flavor of oyster shells. Malty and hoppy. Chocolate and caramel notes. Full bodied. Smooth and creamy tasting. Enjoyable. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA Jun 9, 2005 Tap at Andy’s. Not sure why this is getting so slammed. Dark dark brown, tan head. Aroma is roasty and there is an American hop presence. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate with a big American hop bitterness and flavor. I do pick up some malty creaminess, but I just had a Berliner Weiss before this and this one is a much bigger brew. This is a lighter stout, so don’t expect anything more than a session brew when consuming... DocLock (4175), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 13, 2004 Draft. Pours deep brown/burgundy with a good head and lacing. Aroma of malt, coffee, chocolate, and I swear I could smell clam juice (bearded clam juice, perhaps?). Tastes malty, roasty, creamy, with a slightly dry, smoky, crisp finish. There was definitely an oyster quality in this. I don’t know if they throw pounds of whole oysters in, and I forgot to ask, but it had a nice taste that went well with seafood. Fordham brewpub is in the Ram’s Head tavern in Annapolis, and it is a great place with an awesome patio, great food, and nice brews. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA Jun 11, 2005 Tap at andy’s/ I loved this. Poured dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma was toasted malts with a bit of smoke? Taste was nice. Creamy and smooth, roasted malts. Very dry finish, with a nice bitter lingering after taste. Good brew. egajdzis (3086), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA May 11, 2005 Poured a dark brown / mahogany color with a medium sized, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, roast, and saltwater. Taste was sweet chocolate, and roasted malts. Nice, and I believe Rehoboth to be a nice setting for drinking this beer.
