MilkmanDan (1937), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Jan 20, 2004 Murky brown. Smells like a thin brown ale, bit earthy, maybe some caramel. A little oversweet, ends mildly smoky, maybe a few malts in the middle but not that much. Kind of thin. blank (999), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jan 19, 2004 RDF Strong Ale Fest: A nice dark brown ale ale. Earthy and lightly hops. A good starter beer for the evening. jeffc666 (1821), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Jan 16, 2004 Murky brown body with a tan head. Nutty malty aroma. Flavors are like a brown ale, nutty, then a load of piney hops hits giving a decent amount of bitterness. Medium dry body with a slightly astringent aftertaste. argo0 (6176), Washington DC, USA Jan 15, 2004 Opaque brown body with creamy beige head. Aroma is weak -- medium sweet and nutty. Taste is medium sweet, nutty, some herbal, finishing with mild peat. Watery body. Not a bad beer, but needs "more" of everything.
