The first of two Italian beers sampled. I’m Italian descent and proud of it. I love being Italian. We make great food, great wine, great art, great music, and great love. But lousy beer with a few exceptions. This isn’t one of them. Pale gold body with a foamy white head. Nose had hints of hops, malt, overripe fruit. Light bodied and somewhat thin. Corny flavor with dry finish. Just not much of a beer.

Could this be a bock? It’s really sweet and bocky. Delicious stuff with some alcohol and some complexity. I’m very surprised (pleasantly) with this brew. Mega-malty flavor with little hoppiness.

Pours a medium golden color. Aroma is acidic and grainy. Smells kind of like an NA brew. Flavor is somewhat malty with a hint of sweet graininess. Slightly roasty aftertaste.

(11.2 oz bottle) A sweet, corn aroma jumps out of the glass, giving me some hope here. The flavor is a bit of a letdown, but it’s passable I guess. Sweet, corn, mild bitterness, there’s at least some balance here. Mild traces of cardboard in the finish only detract a little. Really, after what I’ve tasted today, this isn’t that bad a beer. Light bodied, but not watery in comparison to others. Medium yellow in color. White head is fairly bubbly, but small after the pour, fading to a bubbly halo. Some droopy lacing with patches of lace decorate the glass. Not great, but of the European pale lagers I’ve rated today, this is the best.

Draught @ a small pizzaria near palazzo Quirinale in Rome: Golden coloured. Clear. White medium sized dense head. Malt, some hops, fruits and a light note of cocoa in the aroma. Flavour of herbs, hops and sweetness. Is smoot and velvety on the palate. Has some bitterness. Quite good after drinking shitty pale lagers for days.

White creamy mostly lasting head. Golden color. Aroma is moderately malty, sweet with grainy and herbal notes. Flavor is moderately malty with bready and corn tones, ending in a slightly hoppy finish. Light bodied.

Slightly hazed golden appearance, decent head. Grainy, sour fruit aroma. Sweet palate, too sweet, with no real hop bite in the finish. Unsatisfying.
